  1. First Mile Demo Drive - Las Vegas

Just wanted to post a PSA for anyone in the Vegas area; looks like the Mendenhall Service Center is scheduling demo drives for March 21. I didn't receive an email on it yet, but I happened to be on my Rivian account and saw an event was upcoming. The link went live yesterday so they may send...
  2. Delivery Estimate Updates Are Out! ⏱️ [as of Jan 31, 2022]

    Looks like my initial "Estimated Delivery: 2024" might get narrowed to first half of 2024; according to metadata anyway. "estimatedDeliveryWindow":{ "endDate":"2024-06-30", "startDate":"2024-01-01" }
  3. Installing a Retractable Level 2 Charger on Garage Ceiling (Tool Balancer)

From a earlier post; RF1918 was able to achieve a locking retractable charger setup using: Tigon TW-1R Retractor, Spring/Tool Balancer (Load Capacity: 0.5-1.5 kg/1.1-3.3 lbs) Adjustable cable stopper https://a.co/d/hO3nzY1...
  4. Looking for home solar advice

I would love to install solar panels myself, but I have a clay tile roof which looks and sounds like a HUGE PITA. Unless somebody on the forum has a clever easy solution to tackle clay tiles :)
  5. Looking for home solar advice

Anybody else have experience using Project Solar? I was considering of using them for solar on my home. My initial quote from them about 2 years ago was very reasonable (~$1.35 per watt after incentives), but never pulled the trigger... Also I heard that the national solar incentive is now...
  6. Show off your Level 2 Home Charger installs here

I was thinking of doing something similar to keep the cord from being a trip hazard. What is the reel you're using to keep the plug suspended? Is it self retracting?
  7. 20 degrees cooler inside (roof / windshield tint/film)

I vaguely remember a tint guy telling me that using ceramic tint 'keeps the heat trapped in the window' and minimizes radiating the heat into the cabin and that's why the window may feel hot. Not really sure how true that is though.
  8. Clear vinyl wrap for paint protection?

I believe XPEL officially calls it "satin". Technically matte is even more dulled out than what XPEL Stealth is offering. The XPEL Stealth PPF has a bit of sheen to it, which makes it "satin" rather than matte; semantics....
  9. Any R1S Delivery Updates?

I guess I should've posted this here, but a potential silver R1S delivery in Los Angeles... If they did take delivery, obviously its nobody on this forum... https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/may-june-deliveries-thread.3954/post-156358
  10. PPF Done! Looks Amazing!

Would you happen to know if the shops are machine pre-cutting the PPF for Rivian panels? or were the installers cutting the PPF from full sheets as they install.
  11. Steering Wheel Shake at Highway Speeds

oh interesting. Anyone with the wobble, have you guys tried changing driving modes and see if the wobble changes? Wondering if stiffer suspension driving modes is translating road imperfections into the steering wheel...
  12. Steering Wheel Shake at Highway Speeds

As long as its not a death wobble (per the video below) I wouldn't say its terribly urgent to address. Likely a wheel balance issue, which is easily fixed. Bad alignment itself, is rarely the reason for steering wheel wobble. Bad alignment could lead to feathered tire wear, which would then...
  13. Starbucks Ads on my R1T? Wait? What?

Able to afford a Rivian, but not spotify premium? tsk tsk :giggle:
  14. May/June Deliveries Thread

Not sure how accurate this is; just came across this on my instagram feed, but a LA Silver R1S on delivery truck allegedly in the Los Angeles area posted 4 days ago. Trying my best not to get my hopes up.... ?
  15. Email: "New improvements to the purchasing experience" (automating the process more)

Just thinking out loud, but would it make sense to send these kinds of emails / guide assignments / and deliveries based on where you live and not necessarily by reservation date. Since Rivian don't really have an ad agency of their own (yet), maybe they are trying to spread out the deliveries...
  16. El Cap Granite R1S spotted in Yosemite

Legend has it that he drives a smartcar
  17. Rich Rebuilds: Takes a Rivian to the racetrack

Probably the universal German torque spec of "Guten Tight" will be enough. I was in the automotive field for a good number of years and don't know any mechanic that torque underbody panel screws, just get them "good and tight."
