Anyone hear any rumblings about whether Rivian will honor pre-march '22 pricing for the PTC when it becomes available? I've been trying to get an answer from customer service on this but have got nowhere. I'm guessing if they honor the original price, they'll do so only for vehicles not yet...
Sorry to hear about your troubles. When ordering from the US, UPS is to be avoided like the plague. Their brokerage fees are insane. They charge less to the shipper (which is why so many independent business in the States use UPS to ship to Canada), and then they charge exorbitant brokerage...
I’ve visited twice in the past two days. The building was locked to the public while I was there, during business hours. That being said, both days I had Rivian emloyees approach me while I was outside walking around to ask if they could help in any way, and offered to open a vehicle for me...
I'm guessing OP might be Canadian. Up until last night, we Canadians were still able to select the 20" tires, RUS, and spare tire individually, even though this change was done months ago in the US.
Sadly, I too received this email last night, although because I already had the 20" wheels...
Hey Wing, did your guide confirm this? It's what I expected, which is why I'm personally holding out for the moment. Although, who knows if we'll ever be able to get the PTC configured from factory again at this point.
All of the Launch Edition vehicles that I see in the shop right now say "No Tonneau, Manual Compatible".
I asked earlier in this thread if anyone buying a vehicle from the shop has asked their guide if they will be able to get pre hike pricing on the powered tonneau V2 when its widely...
I've read that when Rivian grants access to the Shop, they change your status to "Processing Estimate" until such time Shop access is removed. At least, that's my understanding. It has nothing to do with the SC opening soon.
I wonder if only R1T reservation holders are being given access since there's only R1T's in the shop right now. Just a wild guess. I'm an Oct '21 reservation holder and first noticed Shop access yesterday morning, but I'm holding out for my preferred config.
With the powered tonneau...
As emk says above, the next delivery updates are coming at the end of November. As long as you don't change anything in your configuration after Nov 1, you should get an update. But if you change something, you'll be stuck in "processing estimate" purgatory.
I'm in North, though not as far...
I'd love to see results for Canada. Any reason Canadian provinces couldn't be added to list of locations in the form instead of just "outside of USA"?
Great work by the way!
Canadian here. October '21 reservation. RIT/El cap/OC/20's. Previous estimate was "first half of 2023".
The email I received last night from Rivian states "The delivery window estimate in your Account has been temporarily set to “Processing new estimate” as we finalize plans for when...
Keep in mind the storage for the tonneau is only a 6"x6"xBedwidth box. Everything from 6" down from the top of the bed is actually part of the gear tunnel. That's why the manual tonneau cover doesn't allow a longer bed.
Munro Live's youtube video on the tonneau issues helps illuminate this:
I don't think I've seen this video from Youtube posted yet. I'm still struggling to decide if I'm going to keep limestone as my configuration.... If it looks as neutral gray as this then I'm happy!
I think it's entirely possible there was a manufacturing imperfection in the glass when it was tempered. It's not uncommon for tempered glass to spontaneously shatter as a result of small imperfections in the glass. I've had it happen on construction sites numerous times.
As a Canadian I certainly think this is BS. The US and Canadian auto industries have worked hand-in-hand for decades to the benefit of both countries. These anti-competitive clauses will hurt the Canadian auto industry at the same time the US is seeking our help to increase mining and refinery...
