The Gravity is a bit too big for us (empty nesters). The R2, Audi q6, and Cadillac Optic are ab the size we’re looking for. Our current cars (Tesla M3 L/R, RAV4 Prime) are in the 185” range.
Read Dan Neil’s review of the Lucid in the WSJ. I understand it’s not a Gravity, but the Gravity will have the Lucid technology and underpinnings. Very impressive. I haven’t driven a Lucid, but did see the Gravity at the Auto Show. Better in person. I won’t buy a Kia due to my terrible...
I have a Tesla M3 L/R. Tesla mobile service is excellent (I had moisture in a taillight they replaced.) I have an R2 on order. These stories give me pause, especially since it will be a new model with some inevitable bugs.
I think it was Yahoo Finance that said the usual: supply chain issues slowing production, slower sales, cash burn rate, etc. Nothing all that dramatic. I did see RJ’s sale on the Fast Edgar, appeared to be option related. As my father said, “ more people wanted to sell shares than buy them.”
I agree. Excellent firewall between reporting and editorials, which I avoid like the plague. Occasionally an obviously slanted article sneaks thru. Read Dan Neil (Pulitzer Prize winner) for an excellent automotive column.
My wife had a slow speed parking lot misadventure in our (since sold) Ionic 5. It was drivable, had to do an occasional on/off to get warnings to stop. 5-10 mph max. They were quite new at the time. 7 months in the shop awaiting parts, etc. Hyundai gave me a “personal rep” who was pleasant...
If it was truly an issue for Rivian, they could build a fee into the return costs (like lease end fees, charges for wheel curb scuff, etc.) for charging history. But they don’t. My view is charge it as you like—it’s essentially built into the cost of the lease. I wouldn’t abuse it purposely...
As far as Hyundai goes, their EV’s total about 7% of their sales. It’s a pretty long off-ramp for Ford to get profitable on their EV products. They could have improved the Escape PHEV to compete with the RAV4 Prime, but didn’t. Rivian needs to hold on until the R2 and R3 are on line. It...
I have a Tesla M3 L/R 2023, had an early R1S order I canceled as we thought it was just too big for our needs after driving it. I have a deposit on an R2. The Tesla has been flawless. I had some moisture in a taillight: they came to my house in 2-3 days and fixed it under warranty. I do wonder...
I’ve made small amounts selling covered calls. When the stock was $10-$14, the premiums were pretty high. I was. Ever knit for the long term. Buying at $10 and selling at $15 is better, but this was pretty profitable.
I charge my Tesla with my j1772 eve and the Tesla adaptor. Couldn’t be easier. Yes, I open the charging door with the app. I’m 77 and even I don’t fumble.
I have a Model 3 L/R, it’s a great car. Fast, good range. I like its looks a lot. The interior is plain, I agree. To say Musk is polarizing is obviously an understatement. I’m sure my house is full of stuff from China, where there is no freedom of expression, restricted internet, etc. I...
I have a Tesla M3 L/R, have a R2 on order. I don’t use any of the apps, just get in the car and drive. Of course, I’m 77 and wear hearing aids. But I’m waaaay more interested in the handling and performance of the vehicle, its range and reliability than the electronic gadgets. Yes, I...
