I'm personally done paying attention to these all these BS promises from manufacturers. Waited 4 years for CT and the price is garbage. I'm well into 3 years waiting on Rivian and they just emailed me to say my truck is now scheduled for April 2025 because service center is delayed. Prob going...
90 kwh PHEV battery seems ridiculous, but perhaps related to tow rating or charge cycle longevity. Otherwise, I have personally always felt that series hybrid makes a great deal of sense for those living in colder climates, where you could often make good use of that ICE waste heat. If Toyota...
Could just be us, but we've sort of noticed the superchargers in our area of Western NY are finally starting to see some real congestion, even during random, off-peak times. Sites where I've never seen a wait are, all the sudden, routinely showing 5-10 minute wait. I think the next "crisis" of...
The thing I am always puzzled by with Tesla people (of which I am currently one) is why they seem so fascinated with the manufacturing technologies which have no tangible benefit to the customer. Is an "exoskeleton" going to improve the way your truck drives your fat a$$ down the street? No its...
We have two Model Ys. I've lost count, but my general list of Tesla shadiness:
1) 300+ miles range (260 in summer and 160 in winter)
2) Comfort suspension (worst in the segment)
3) Vision-based park distance control (a joke, worse than nothing)
4) Everything related to FSD
5) One-touch windows...
I personally expect them to price the dual motor at $75-80K for the foreseeable future. Probably be able to get one or two options while still qualifying for the full Fed rebate to keep the effective price in the low 70s. The quad motor will be six figures and single motor nowhere to be found...
Good on Rivian here and excellent for owners, but really, their hands were 100% tied if they wanted to remain competitive with Ford and GM. Tesla's hands are similarly tied, as they need to demonstrate relative impartiality to bring other automakers into the fold, receive fed money, and stave...
I don't personally understand the styling on this, or most modern trucks. They're all dripping in such comically overdone, try-hard "manliness" that it really speaks to how insecure the average American male actually is. The Rivian styling is an absolute masterclass in comparison.
Still, nice...
The ONLY reason Rivian is not offering AA/ACP because they financially need to monetize their walled garden by collecting and selling your data and controlling what you see, now and into the future. It has NOTHING to do with it being hard to implement or their system ever being "better, more...
Our first 2021 (totaled) had the 20s and on the older suspension they were ridiculous. My mother in law asked to be let out of the back seat after 5 minutes and refused to ride in it again.
Our replacement 2021 is on 19s and its mostly okay on good roads but large impacts really make their way...
I sold the Alfa that I absolutely adored to purchase a Model Y when the prices dropped a few months ago, with the idea being it will replace my wife's currently leased 2021 Model Y next year and leave me open to wait to consider more interesting cars coming out between now and then. The 2023 I...
To me, issues like this are the reason I wish we could test drive our actual truck before signing on the dotted line. Buying a $80K+ truck without driving it first feels like buying a house without going inside.
I'm in Rochester and had my R1T delivery bumped out to Q2 next year due to the distance. It's encouraging to hear that there's a mobile service tech based here.
To be clear, I don't like Tesla. They treat their customers like garbage and Musk is a massive douche. But that is what I will have my family in for the forseeable future, based on personal experience.
The story you're referencing is posted by "the Dawn project" which is a joke. The car on FSD...
We almost bought a 2022 XC60 last year. Until we found out they moved control of many of the car's key systems over to a Google-controlled unit that's been incredibly unreliable, with Volvo unable to fix most of the issues. We only looked into because there were so many low mileage CPO vehicles...
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for Volvo releasing OTA updates that enhance seat belt and airbag operation based on mining billions of miles of fleet data.
A Model Y saved my wife's life when someone ran a red at 50 mph. The app notified me of the accident and showed me where it was. Tesla called her immediately to see if she needed help (which she did) and EMTs told us her condition given the severity was remarkable. The car also provided footage...
Always fun to see how much energy folks waste on here ragging on Tesla. In one breath, they "never actually deliver on anything" while in another breath are suddenly making Rivians more useful and valuable by opening up the one and only reliable CCS charging network in the US.
Like all things...
