It’s unfortunate, but some LE customers are in areas Rivian can’t support yet so priority or not… they can’t sit on inventory or block on those problems and survive as a business.
Am I annoyed I was one of the earliest reservations (first couple hours) and my proximity to Normal and the...
Interesting. I think this means either they are building a lot more than I thought or mine was built sooner than I thought. Mine is a 2023, single digit VIN.
As far as I can tell… Ours was built 12/29 (I think), assigned to me on 12/30, shipped via rail on 12/31, and arrived in Bellevue, WA at the service center on 1/20.
It’s in final checks and I’m expecting to be able to schedule delivery this coming week.
To be fair, I don't expect Driver+ to be a fully self-driving system. I'd be surprised if the R1's currently have the hardware capable of doing that. I would be irked if they fold Driver+ features that currently exist in the vehicle, or any of the ones already mentioned as "coming soon", into a...
Doesn't read that way to me... "Rivian Driver+ is standard on every vehicle we build. Delivering true hands-free driving assistance along with our full set of safety features, the system continually adds functionality through over-the-air updates." feels very straight forward.
Given how many times they use the language like “all features standard” and “Through over-the-air updates, we’ll add more over time at no cost to you.” they will have a similar PR experience as they did with price changes if they make Driver+ a subscription for folks with pre-orders or existing...
So do I. In my case, it doesn't affect the other policies unless you remove something and don't replace it, where discounts might change on other policies.
That is pretty weird all around. FWIW, my insurance company (State Farm) starts a new policy for a new car. If you sell or trade an existing car they cancel it’s policy, refund a prorated amount based on how long it’s been, and charge you for the new car. That way the new car starts with a fresh...
They definitely reset the number for 2023. My 2023 VIN (vehicle is in transit still) is under 10 for an R1S LE. I know they haven’t shipped as many R1S’s, but the highest 2022 VINs I’ve seen are in the thousands.
They removed the spare from all R1S orders that weren't delivered by December 15th and told us it'd be purchasable in the Gear Shop: "We are updating the Gear Shop now. In early 2023, prices in the Gear Shop will be adjusted to match your current pricing. We will notify you when that’s complete."
I’d guess the frequency of which you use 520 influences how much attention you give it’s closure… I use 520 very rarely and don’t pay any attention to it, for example.
I happened to go to the arboretum on Sunday with the kids and it did surprise me the Lake Washington E. Closure north of the...
I’d be surprised in navigation stops working or if they disable Alexa without a subscription. I’d also suspect you’ll be able to connect the vehicle to your Phone Wi-Fi hotspot if you want to stream music.
One interesting I did notice in a Hertz rental Model Y without their premium connectivity...
It's been a while since I posted... but I finally have news. My 8 steps were unlocked on 12/30, and I've been working through them. The guidance from my guide is that it'll be 6-8 weeks which is in the first half of my updated Feb/March delivery window.
My VIN is a 2023 VIN, with a build number...
