  1. L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Sample size of exactly 1 vehicle, but my other friend with a Rivian has a G2 Large+ and does not experience throttling, or has not as of today. He's in a garage, but that seems hardly impactful based on the anecdotes shared here.
  2. Gen 1 Battery Discharge update for 2024.47.01 and 2024.51.01

I noticed this this past week. 3 day trip where it sat at airport. Only "lost" 1%. I was surprised. However, my drive home saw me "billed" for the rest of it as I only averaged like 1 mi/kwh
  3. Cold weather checklist: Advantage to keeping vehicle plugged in?

From what I know and understand, I highly doubt it. Well not until your vampire drain pulls you below 40%.
  4. Cold weather checklist: Advantage to keeping vehicle plugged in?

Per the hot thread in this sub-forums, "The Preconditioning Myth" - I don't think any of that last statement is true, or at least with the definitive truth you speak. I have never seen my Emporia charger report power being pulled unless the car is below the trigger and charges up to meet it...
  5. The preconditioning myth

This is what I routinely see with my Emporia as well.
  6. The preconditioning myth

Fair enough. I'll retry with my own testing tonight.
  7. The preconditioning myth

Do you have any proof? I've never seen it on my Gen 1. The charger logs never wake up, unless its topping off the battery.
  8. The preconditioning myth

All of this has been a huge example of people inventing what they want to hear and then getting upset when it doesn't the work the way they invented in their head. I haven't done any scientific tests, but in having the truck for 8 months here's what I gather. 1) Charging warms the battery up...
  9. L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Thanks for the replies folks, I suppose its "good" to see that it's occurring across all brands, as it does help point to something internally w/ the BMS on these G2s. On my G1 R1T, when I unplug after an L2 session to 100, my battery temp is always >70 regardless of outdoor temp. The fact...
  10. L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Interesting observation here. Buddy above on the Tesla UWC limited amps to 36A via the scheduled charge feature in the app. When at 40A he has consistently seen the first drop off at 80%. When limited to 36A, the first severe drop didn't happen until 90%.
  11. L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Imagine releasing a new generation of cars and not knowing how they would L2 chage while in the cold. Kidding aside, That's honestly a good point. My bud with this issue has a Tesla UWC. Wonder if that's common or if we have a solid example on another EVSE w/ just a J1772.
  12. Does Level 2 charging have a curve the way Level 3 does?

There shouldn't be - in essence. The EVSE will deliver 9.6 (40a) or 11 (48a) steady based on what the car will request. With that said, my G1 R1T does show a behavior where the first part of the charge is used to warm the battery; this is reflected in the "miles per hour" on the dash - it may...
  13. Weird Charging Curve Drop for 2025 Gen2 R1S (Large)

Search is your friend, as most folks have stated—long thread already on this. But kudos for a well-summarized issue report, and it's interesting to see it's happening on your Large pack, as most examples have been on the TriMax. Since you're in NE, I assume it's been cold during these attempts.
  14. L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

My buddy up the street picked his up in October, and has this behavior. Would assume that means it was born before November. His started right with .47; but also colder temps outside, but was also told it was "normal" by service.
  15. Rivian reroute for a out of service charger station

I see. I'm sorry that happened. For future reference, an EA in the same mall parking lot is around the corner from that RAN. Is it possible it was trying to route you there and the two sites are so close in proximity that maybe some confusion happened?
  16. Rivian reroute for a out of service charger station

I see you're in VA, did it route you to the RAN in Fredericksburg, VA? It has been closed recently, and I would have imagined the nav should have known that. If it was that station, it shows up grey in my app, but I haven't tried navving there in the truck.
  17. L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Yeah, .47 was the holiday update. It was released on 12/19 and was full deployment by 12/20-12/21. Ive been working with a friend who has this issue and he had no issues getting to 100% until the .47 update, and it's been consistent after that. There are of course many variables, he charges...
  18. L2 charger down to 2.7kwh at 24F.. Should I be worried?

Does anyone have any confirmed instances of the throttling happening before the .47 update?
