Efficiency is a fair point but on road tires I'm seeing people posting about 1.5-2.0 mi/kwh for the Hummer SUV vs. 1.8-2.2 mi-kwh for the R1S. Is there a difference? Sure, but feels like 10-15%, maybe less in the winter as I believe the Hummer has a heat pump whereas the Rivian does not...
The Hummer does 300+ miles supposedly, very similar to the R1S. Not sure on road trips, you'd think the massive battery of the Hummer would be advantageous once the giant brick is moving at speed. Frankly, both of them are pretty poor aerodynamically.
Yes, two rows only for the Hummer.
I've searched on here and it sounds like a few folks may have owned (or still own) a Hummer SUT or SUV but I haven't been able to find anyone write up a good comparison - at least via site search. On the YouTube most "tests" seem to be drag races, which isn't really my cup of use cases. Really...
They should have cut deeper, earlier.
Now they've burned cash they need to bridge to R2. Maybe they have 4-5 quarters of cash (assuming sales hold and similar ASP - which we know are falling). It's a tough one, they really need R2 to launch mid-2025.
Without the backing of a sovereign wealth...
This shouldn't be hard, just read the lease agreement you signed. I had leased an Audi Q7, two years in I opted to buy it out due to high resale values. Yes, the buyout was listed on the web site (and was wrong) but I read my lease agreement and contacted them to verify the correct lease...
I'm in Mercer county, pretty much any electrician can take care of it. I've used Hammer Electric (https://www.hammerelectric.com/) for new panels, generator installs and more. Mike, the owner, is quite a car guy.
Bigger questions are less about the EVSE and more about your...
Even if you can get around the need for a ground, I'd guess you can pull 60-80 watts before frying the light bulb socket. That's not going to do anything in terms of adding to your charge.
I'd bring a 100 foot heavy-duty extension cable and hunt around for a socket when you get there. At...
I'm in for 11,500. No doubt they have to clear current inventory, and have been doing so, and likely depleting the finished goods inventory that was on the way to service/delivery centers.
Q2? I'm thinking the 52k/yr and lost 2-3 weeks of production even with some factory held inventory is...
Long distance towing fans will have a few options - and more options are better:
- Silverado EV in whatever trim level has the 24 Ultium modules - 200-250kwh of battery brutishness
- Rivian R1T *cough* Max *cough* Pack - if this were the 180kwh pack of legends it might be more useful
-...
I'm not ignoring them, just asserting that there are likely far more people who could care less about long-distance towing. For those towing enthusiasts Tesla didn't neglect them, there is the upcoming range extender that slaps and mounts into the bed.
For a truck though, it should have a...
Sure, there were a few disappointed folks. But pragmatists, of which there are many, were not at all surprised. Why?
The Plaid+ got killed off >2 years earlier because as the Supercharger network kept growing the need to strap an even more massive battery pack under each vehicle to get 500...
Something to consider, without Tesla paving a path Rivian would not exist.
I have a R1S pre-order that's been available to configure since Nov/Dec last year BUT I also have a Dec 2019 Cybertruck reservation that should come up to configure and deliver this year. No question, for a family of 5...
The question is 2025 Model Year - which could be as soon as this April (but I'd guess the August line takedown meaning vehicles hit dealers/spaces in October) - or 2025 calendar year? Because as far as I know they only have two line shutdowns scheduled this year in April and August so one of...
Good question, I think the $75-85K price band is quickly getting saturated and prices have been falling:
- Rivian R1 (not R2)
- Mercedes EQE
- BMW IX (after discounts)
- Volvo EX90 (impending arrival)
- Polestar 3 (impending arrival, maybe)
- Macan EV (Fall 2024)
What am I missing? Oh...
That's easy.
Either no response at all, as it doesn't merit one until they start moving hundreds of thousands of units or....
....the Model 2 Plaid! Take the Model S 1,020 HP drivetrain and shoehorn it into the Model 2. Underbrake the vehicle, as always, and retain existing track settings...
