I had the same issue after updating.
I double triple checked proximity locking was turned off at home.
Either the Rivian app lost GPS connection or the update did. Either way it finally stopped after I locked and unlocked the vehicle from the app.
FWIW, my app was not on 3.0 at the time.
I would not buy the R1S again, but for different reasons.
The roof does a great job keeping the heat out, the front windshield, not so much, but that’s all vehicles for the most part.
ETA - the dynamic roof is only in the front. If you keep your dogs in the back, I strongly suggest you have...
maybe not
However, if I hire a sql developer, I can train them on the nuances between Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
Mechanics are not single vendor trained. If you can work on a Ford, you can work on VW. Same would be true for EV brands with minimal training.
Talk about not staying on-topic…That’s rich coming from a K-pop Rivian fan girl who sees nothing wrong with anything this company does. Look at me, look at meeee, I have more posts than you do, I’m more important here than you are…
You must wear really really big shoes, because you’re a clown.
Am I tho?
While AI might be able to do all those things, does Rivian have the software development team to help code all those items? What will they use, agentic AI? Do they have a LLM already to support the agentic agents?
What I’m saying is the company need to prioritize customer...
Amazing…
because my 2017 truck unlocks every time I press the unlock button and it has zero AI.
Oh, and my local truck dealer has me in the service center in a matter of days and I get to talk to a human being.
How will we ever survive without AI.
If you need AI to figure out if the Rivian app is close enough to the vehicle to unlock it, you’re doing it wrong.
Self Driving getting better, yes.
But what’s the point of your vehicle isn’t built well enough to actually drive. Or spends more time in service than on the road, if you can get...
Who cares.
How about you hire someone who can actually build a quality vehicle, or write good code for your software, or staff a service center properly.
No one cares if Rivian has AI. Get your product and priorities straight.
I’ve not owned the Gen 1, but I have driven one for a short while. Everyone that thinks the Gen 2 suspension is so much better need to go test drive an Audi eTron if you want to know what a great suspension feels like.
Rivian has a long way to go in this department.
are you going down that road? Because the previous administration is wrought with plagiarism, especially the CNC.
maybe leave your political views out of this forum and head to DU.
If you choose to own a vehicle the CCP has all access to, go right ahead.
I hope your social score increases and they let you travel wherever you want.
I see what you did there. I certainly hope 99% of Rivian parts aren’t made in China.
If they are, I guess we’re all suckers for paying twice the amount over a BYD.
Then It’s not bulletproof is it? I’m not talking MRAP level protection here, but a minimum of a B3 rating would suffice. (Think 357 mag pistol)
Not to rain on your parade, but you’ve advertised and promoted something it isn’t.
You might as well have just put all the lights and sounds on the...
I would not buy our R1S again, and we just bought it.
If I were to buy another EV suv, it would be the BMW IX, followed closely by the new Audi SQ6.
Neither of them are off road worthy, but the build quality and availability of service is so much better than Rivian.
Otherwise, I’d wait for...
What NIJ standard is the Rivian rated? With all the added weight, what’s the new range?
I have a guy who does EP and is always looking for new stuff.
I tried to use the Rivian charger on my Audi eTron and it wouldn’t charge the car. So I whipped out the Audi charger.
Then today I left with the Audi and the wife plugged in the R1S. I get a notification the R1S is charging at 9kW which is nearly 2kW faster!
