So, I'm replying to myself. My wife and I didn't hear any whistling, we just heard the rush of the air over the crossbars. YMMV and don't shoot the messenger if they don't work out, but I'm happy with the "mod". Relatively cheap and easy to install (with silicone spray) and 100% reversible.

Traded my 2DR Bronco FE for my R1T. I loved my Bronco until I drove an R1T. They are not even comparable.

Not any more (at least in King County). Also agree that inspections should be mandatory: I have seen cars with literally bald tires (the steel was poking through), taillights not working, bodywork dragging, etc. And that is almost every day. It's like f***ing Mad Max up in here.

Just picked up a loaner from Bellevue. Some of y'all are nasty. It had crumbs and spilled coffee and it reeked. So I cleaned it up and am running an ozone generator. Hopefully the next person enjoys it. TL;DR Don't eat in your car.
