Not a prev lightning owner but a prev Mach e owner. Barely got software updates with Mach e. With the Rivian, we get updates regularly, usually 3 days after they announce it. We programmed the car to uodate at a certain time and only at home. Congrats
We originally had a dual max with 22 in wheels and replaced them with 20 in a/t tires. Very happy with the 20s and wouldnt go back. In your situation, the 20s would def work better, you’ll need the bigger sidewall and handling is so much better on the 20s. Congrats.
Also, Rivian has a referral...
There’s not a lot of RAN on roadtrips but we always prioritize them if they’re on the way bec charging is always easy. Most of the time it’s not full like EA, EVGO is more expensive most of the time and Tesla SC could be a hassle if you have to take 2 spots.
Know how you feel, we don’t like PAAK either. No matter what, doesn’t work well. Dont like waiting for the car to unlock when you approach. Our sole was turn off Bluetooth and use the keyfob. For us, the keyfob has been perfect, unlocks the door when you approach and locks when you leave. No...
That’s a good choice. Having 20in wheels is key. Ride is much better than 22s. Originally got our R1S with 22 in wheels and replaced with 20 in with a/s tires.
I also don’t care much about NACS. Charging at Tesla SC is not my priority for roadtrips. Congras
We got our tires replaced at America’s Tire in Mission Viejo (if you are closer to this area. They have the pucks and have serviced a lot of Rivians.
I’m assuming you have 22 in tires and Michelin has 1 with 115 load rating and another with 119 load rating. Suggest you go with the 119 load...
I avoid using adapters if possible due to this issue. I have a 2025 and when I charge it at Tesla destination charger, I lock it to remind me that I need to remove it and put it away.
Not at all, same efficiency. I didn’t even change it and recalibrate to 20 in as Michelin is not on the choice, only a/t tires and the only all season was the bf Goodrich.
Initially got a Gen 2 with 22 sport bright wheels bec it looks really nice but later swapped to 20 in all season. What a diff in ride comfort. Had the setting to standard height, moderate ride and med regen. I think the bigger sidewall makes a difference in ride quality.
Use your keyfob, turn off Bluetooth on Rivian app and your prob would go away. PAAK sucks. Our Gen 2 is parked in our garage and keeps waking up when we walk by our kitchen and getting the keyfob solved it. And if you exclusively use the keyfob, it’s very responsive and always works.
