I'm 3 hours from the nearest service center. When I tried to schedule a mobile service appointment they told me they didn't have anything. At all. But they'd call me when something becomes available. Luckily they fit me in at the Salt Lake service center and I made the drive.
Waiting months...
When I picked up my Gen2 R1T the guy said 'I have 45 minutes to spend with you. How would you like to spend that time?'
Having never owned an EV, we did a quick exterior inspection and then spent the bulk of the time inside. I remember him showing me the mechanical release for the front seats...
It's important to keep things in context. Trail Terrain is designed for light duty trucks. The review fails to mention on which vehicle they had them mounted. They've been pretty awesome so far on our Tacoma. Granted it's early but we've had them on snow and ice and they did awesome. IF they...
It does make sense. Thanks. Is it possible to do the pre heating of the battery and cabin while plugged in and charging and pulling from the outlet rather than from the battery?
This is invaluable. Thank you. Temps won't be above 30-35* and will likely be mid to low 20's and teens for the next 2-3 months where I live so I will be experiencing this first hand. Today, started out 80% charged (Gen 2 R1T Dual Max) or 336 miles of range when I took my daughter to school and...
I feel you with living far away from a service center (I'm 3 hours away).
I'm certain Rivian has QC checks for their vendors in place. It might not be practical for any industry at scale to have every widget QC checked (or checked in a meaningful way). Maybe 1 out of every 4 or something like...
About a month and a half in with my Gen 2 R1T Dual Max. I had 3 fixes - 2 of them kind of a big deal. Charge port wouldn't release the charger with the button so I had to mechanically release every time and a very annoying rattle in passenger door. Drove the 200 miles to Salt Lake RC for what...
Indeed. I broke about 10 while putting mine together the other night. Granted, I was working in 32* temps which couldn't have helped, but you really need to finesse them onto the cross bars. My buddy who printed them for me is going to try different material but now I'm understanding why people...
Not sure it will matter. I've been trying for 2 months to get Rivian to apply the referral code that I gave them when I bought the truck. They've now ghosted me via text. Pretty annoying as I spent over 150 bucks at the rivian adventure networks when that was supposed to be included for 6 months.
- Placed my order 9/19 (with a September/October delivery time frame given)
- Multiple text messages exchanged over the next several weeks - including a request for me to alter my build otherwise it would be several months (they couldn't get me an exact timeline) before my specific would be...
Noob here. Has it been implemented on Apple and Samsung watches? If yes, then it seems like a no brainer. If no, it seems like those two would be higher priority (though I get your point re: adventure).
So when I'm cruising along at 75-80mph and passing a semi, I don't want to be centered. I want to be as far to the left as I can. When (not if) the semis drift slightly toward the left, the systems rightfully freaks out and shuts off. So it was pretty useless and kind of freaky the multiple...
There's a lot of truth to that.
1. Charger won't release from charge port. Ever. I have to open the frunk, dismantle the paneling, and mechanically release it. Every time I charge.
2. Loudest rattle I've ever experienced in a vehicle coming from passenger door. Goes away with pressure by...
I took delivery of my G2 R1T a month ago and did so for a lot of the reasons you list here and nearly bought an RST Silverado. Do not kid yourself (like I mistakenly did) and think you're going to get anywhere near 400 miles. The way we drive (especially if we care about long range, meaning at...
A LOT of people think hybrids are the future. I guess it's all perspective.
If ICE cars are the present (they still make up the overwhelming majority worldwide) mixed with some hybrid and EV, both hybrid and EV are the future. But I would say hybrids will play a bigger part over the next 20-30...
I picked up a loaner from the Salt Lake service center this past week. I thought the truck was broke when I pulled out. It's enough to give someone tinnitus. Unreal.
Anyone know of a good all season WITH snowflake rating that isn't deafening?
The issue is that most of the time when people do 'road trips' it's not just ambient temps that are impacting. It often involves speeds at 70mph or more, elevation changes, wind, etc. All things that ICE vehicles don't care about because of the convenience of gas literally everywhere.
You can disagree with the assertion, but it's a red herring when one doesn't actually address the claims (in this case the video evidence that he presents) but rather tries to disparage his credibility. He may in fact be compromised, biased, and untrustworthy but addressing the video directly is...
