Seems this has been updated and improved on Gen 2. Per the manual, handles now have touch sensors and you may leave in “lock only” and then if in proximity with a phone key, touch to unlock.

I think it would be easy to implement… I vaguely recall Apple Podcasts following Apple Music integration after about a year in the Tesla ecosystem. Fingers crossed it’s coming! I’m a brand-new R1T owner… does Rivian post a roadmap somewhere for these sort of updates?
