I agree, I actually preferred the Rivian maps. Google maps have weird coloring everything is always green around me. I don't find it an upgrade at all. It's not a downgrade but I haven't noticed anything great about the new mapping.
Absolutely agree, just did a 1500 mile trip and I run conserve mode but keep the ride height at low or even standard. For one, "lowest" is just too damn rough for any sort of comfortable ride nothing like bottoming out crossing an overpass. Conserve disables the rear motors and saves a lot of...
I have not yet found the pattern to associate with this, but on occasion when I enter my R1S the steering wheel attempts to attack me. It will fully extend towards me. I have to use the "restore" option in my profile and it goes back to where I like it..
I've only ever had this happen when it...
I also found this to be true on a hill in snow/ice. I couldn't get the vehicle to just "roll" it was constantly braking which locked the wheels up and just caused me to slide off the hilly driveway I was on. I was disappointed. Also from the Midwest growing up in snow and having done the same...
This is literally my only concern about owning my Rivian. Service. How is it this bad? I went to the ATL service center for a tire rotation and general checkup. The appointment took 30+ days to get in and when I arrived they wanted to put me in a rental. I declined and told them I wasn't leaving...
In my non-Rivian experience it comes down to your intended use or look. I had the Wranglers and the Grabbers on my Jeep Wrangler because I liked how they looked. My 4Runner came new with the NITTOs I had good luck with them as an in between where they look a little more aggressive but did nicely...
I would expect that the Nitto would have a tire that is similar in pressure ratings, maybe the one you got isn't quite the right one? Looks like the one you got has a lower load index..

This is the one I was looking at. Someone had it on an R1S and it looked good to me..

and I can't for the life of me find the post where I saw it on an R1S...
I do not understand why Rivian and other EV 12v batteries are not user replaceable. ICE vehicles also experience these 12v battery failures the difference is that you can go down the street to the parts store and get a new one to slap in. It seems like a major marketing failure for these...
Early 2023 R1S Quad owner here. I bought it in May and have put over 8000 miles on it since then. I've been to the service center 1 time because my front trunk didn't always close with power. While it was there I had the tires rotated $60 and they replaced a broken floor mat clip.
I've had zero...
The challenge that companies have with giving services away is that people think they're always going to be free. Let's be clear $150/year is still a steal. You're driving a high end vehicle, you probably spend more than $12.50/mth on fancy coffee.. You can't get an unlimited internet plan for...
Great stuff. I'm eager to get my R1S on the trail, I love seeing these posts. Having had my Wrangler and then my 4Runner I think the R1S is capable at a cost. Your experience seems to give worthiness to my hypothesis.
