I don't think that's how it works. On a Tesla, the high voltage battery pack regularly charges the 12v on an as needed basis because the car's computer is always using some power to enable sentry mode, listen for keys in proximity, to check for updates, to monitor and apply heating/cooling to...
From the release notes:
* Fixed a rare issue that prevented activation of some connected features, such as address sharing, phone key pairing, and Halloween mode on some vehicles.
* Fixed a rare issue seen during Highway Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control on Gen 2 vehicles.

Yeah, writing was on the wall since all the Large+ cars in inventory were 'upgraded' to Max packs a few weeks back.
Seems like Large+ will be a bit of a unicorn on the pre-owned market for years to come.
A bit odd that true Large packs ended up being advertised as 1 mile less at 329mi range...
All this confirms is that no good deed goes unpunished. Had Rivian not given a Connect+ trial, OP wouldn't be threatening to terminate his lease over $150 on a $90k vehicle. Just goes to show, you can't win by giving people free stuff with a time limit.

Just got the new kit with the OBDII adapter. Seems to work great, but I don't see the unit ever shutting off -- the blue ring is lit up all day and night while the car sits. I understand there is a physical switch, but I doubt my wife's going to bother flipping it on and off. If the OBD II...
If everything important to you is already working, then there's no urgency to update. Having said that, 35.* is out now and actively finding its way to vehicles which is two updates newer than 27.* and has additional bug fixes.
@Therivianguy Seems like I probably missed the boat on the first batch. If and when you do a second batch, please put me down for a Limestone, Oceancoast w/Range wheels if possible (or dark 22s if range isn't an option.)
5GHz is notoriously bad at travelling through walls due to the high frequencies used. Assuming the Gen2 actually has 5GHz support, my guess is the signal is too weak.
