Nice!! I half expected them to deny it based on "this was not the intent of this program" or something along those lines. Glad it actually worked out!
Now for the rest of us to get our vehicles!
Don't have an R1 yet, but my 2018 model 3 (not sure if it got better/changed with later revisions) has very slow front windows with slightly faster rear windows. Same speed up and down but noticably slow, and annoying. My wife's A4 has rocketship fast auto windows in comparison
Definitely do, I'll be really curious to hear how it goes. @CEB did you're attempts to reach out get anywhere?
The R1S manual was just released and this seems like a find and replace error from the R1T, but the R1S is listed at the exact same 8,532 lbs for GVWR. I imagine they will fix this...
THIS. Rivian turned the dial to 11 at end of quarter. QC declining at the expense of speed. I suspect they made a tradeoff knowing there would be a higher rate of service calls due to this. This early in the vehicle and service center ramp this can be "reasonably" absorbed post-delivery...
Same. I have my both of my Model 3 roof panels tinted with 35% ceramic tint as well as roof shades for both. The Model 3 is a fishbowl without those. I paid extra for a single piece of tint-film for the rear glass to avoid a seam, in hindsight I would have saved that money as with the roof...
The R1T may qualify for an addition $7,500 rebate in Massachusetts as part of the MOR-EV Trucks program. Meaning potentially $15,000 off when you factor in the full Fed rebate (Also $7,500). The R1T is so heavy it falls into the 2b vehicle class, which is 8,500 - 10,000 lbs and the R1T is...
And all of this risk management is worth something. Some think its worth it to take some money off the theoretical value of their car and just not bother. For many this whole risk management hassle is not worth it.
Anyways, have you tried pricing this out with CarGurus...
I also expected them to have ironed this out better with what I perceived on the outside to be extensive real world testing for the past couple of years. Trying to make sense of this new information, and honestly doing a bit of rationalizing, I'm thinking they were dialing in things that cannot...
Wow what a wild ride! I was hanging in before and I am SUPER in now. For a few reasons
* Pricing is now back to previous levels that I was already OK with.
* Anchoring effect makes it feel like I'm getting a discount.
* No wait, this is real and absolutely a discount and folks who were not...
I read this completely the opposite. That a large legacy OEM, that makes a LOT of money from selling ICE vehicles is touting these findings is HUGE for the EV movement and general carbon emission reduction.
I find this extremely encouraging. These findings have been known for a while, but...
7 seat EV shipping (theoretically) in 2022. I don't know how the second row works, but I know how falcon wing doors do... err don't and I want no part of that. It's quite frankly that simple in my case.
Also as @lostpacket captured so well
"I mean, LOOK AT THAT TRUCK, LOOK AT IT!"
I can't say I've enjoyed the Rivian news the past couple of days, but I think I'm still in. But this price hike hurts. A lot.
My primary rationale is:
* No other 7 seat EV SUV options except for Tesla, and as a Model 3 owner ... never again. Or the upcoming Volvo XC90 EV or Polestar version of...
Tesla is absolutely a California-centric company. Living in a colder climate makes it quite clear they just do not spend anything but the bare minimum of effort for non-moderate climates. There are software improvements that they could make that would definitely make living with my Model 3 in...
This seemed the most focused thread to bring this up. But I really hope that Rivian utilizes that rear LED bar to make the brake lights larger, safer and generally "cooler". I personally find how they are currently implemented to be really small and don't "match" the size and sophistication of...
To echo @sub 's comments, here are my stats on my 2018 Model 3 AWD. I have the least efficient Model 3 AWD before the heat pump, so it will have toaster-heat (more accurately resistive heating) just like the Rivian. I run blizzaks as my winter tires which are quite sticky as far as winter...
As long as there is a 'low regen' option available, which I believe they have, then that covers the "works the way people are used to" use case. Blending the braking forces seems like unnecessary complication, particularly when given a bit of seat time I imagine the vast majority of owners will...
I _think_ I love Rivian blue. Yet at times it does look quite teal, which is not my favorite, but I've wanted an electric blue car for years! So to a certain extent you take what you can get. My favorite of all time would be the mid/late 00's Audi Sprint blue. Its successor of Sepang blue...
190kWh is not too surprising, this is pretty close to the max you're going to get from an EA charger anyways. They max out at 350kWh and have limits of 920v and 500A. So a Rivian with its ~400v battery pack will be Amp limited on the charger at 500A and effectively (400*500) 200kWh which is...
