Reason this is alarming to me is because I paid for new front lower control arms in an effort to stop the creaking. When it should of been subframe all along, I wouldn't of had to pay 2600 for them.
I'll note that if you have a quad Gen 1 - it's just the actual subframe that gets replaced. I confirmed with SC manager as I was excited to get new parts in my mind too. Rivian has Gen 1 quad subframes that are cast (made these before Gen 2 cast). The Gen 1 quad cast fit the Gen 1 parts.
It's a...
Tired Discounters has launched their flagship TD EV shop here in Cincinnati. Guy who runs it is former Rivian employee with over 100k on his LE truck. I have some hope now with this shop being a 2nd option
Exact quote from the service center manager when they told me they are going to replace the subframe: "There are reasons Rivian made the Gen2 Subframe" which I'm pretty sure he was implying for the creaking without officially saying for the creaking. I've seen a lot of posts and chatter about...
70k had to pay 2500 for new front lower control arms
78k had to pay 1900 for one rear left damper (fluid leak too). Now I'm concerned about the right damper going bad.
81k they are putting in a new front drive unit and replacing the Gen 1 subframe with a Gen 2 subframe. Trying to solve this...
Update on this - took it in today and they now say they are going to replace my Gen 1 subframe with the Gen 2 subframe. "There are reasons the Gen 2 subframe was made". 80k and they are replacing front drive unit and subframe and covering it.
Was your sound like this one I just posted?

Two SC visits and the sound still persists. I've dropped over 4400 on new front lower control arms and a rear damper. This post isn't geared at my frustration but rather has anyone else had this issue / sound and got it resolved? See videos.
Gen 1 2022 LE R1S with 79k miles
Long story short, 2nd service center visit in a month for creaking suspension. First visit I paid out 2600 for new control arms, this time they want to replace a leaking rear damper for 2k. Aside from me trying to get Rivian to cut me a break for their parts not lasting past 78k miles, has...
You inspired me... Went for it and fixed it by placing some cut up chair felt pads on the top and side edges of the hvac under the speaker grill. One test drive later and 0 noise now!
Ha funny enough - I went off Your original review and Got the AT3's myself about 35k miles ago. I have a total of 76k on my R1S and LOVE my Coopers. They were awesome on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in MI. Tread is looking good to get me near 50k if I was a betting man. They are holding up a lot...
Well I just wanted excuse to drive it more but have some sort of valid reason to do so ha. We do mostly food deliveries, but when the events are hot in Cincinnati, I'll fire up uber driver and accept comfort or xl rides - (they generally pay more). It's a great way to hand out referral codes for...
Thanks for this thread. I need to show this to my service center as I am headed back after they failed to fix it the first time. It seems to be getting worse by the day. Attached is my very similar sound. '22 R1S Vin 24xx
Just to note - I gave an @uber ride to an audio engineer. He currently works on mixing songs for @Dolby Atmos for several labels. His jaw dropped when I fired up some Dolby Atmos songs in the @Rivian R1S with the @MeridianAudio.
