  1. Photos of RAN Chargers construction in NC

There’s no Target in Blowing Rock. They were speaking of the Tanger Outlets (“Shoppes On The Parkway”). I have heard from a couple reliable people that they will be building a RAN DCFC at Shoppes On The Parkway.
  2. North Carolina R1T Registration

I’ll check when I get my refund. I will compare my refund to the amount I was charged on the buyers agreement.
  3. North Carolina R1T Registration

They gave me a standard weighted plate and charged me for a weighted plate. Then they mailed me a BRP plate that is registered as weighted.
  4. North Carolina R1T Registration

I’m really not sure. I paid $2,957.16 for everything including a Blue Ridge Parkway tag ($30), plus $5 extra for a notary fee. I will say that the ladies working there said the taxes Rivian collected were off by a bit. Also I have not yet received the refund for the taxes I paid Rivian.
  5. North Carolina R1T Registration

I’m in Boone and found that self-registering was MUCH easier and faster than letting Rivian register. Not sure it’s all Rivian’s fault, as one of the ladies in the local tag office said the NC state office will receive mail that won’t get opened for months. I brought the documents Rivian sent...
  6. Taming the chaos that is the center console

These are 2 Patagonia Black Hole Cube bags in small (3L). I bought 2 colors and organized one with personal items and one with vehicle items. Here’s a link to the bags: https://www.patagonia.com/product/black-hole-packing-cube-3-liters/49361.html?dwvar_49361_color=BLK&cgid=luggage-black-hole-bags
  7. We all should be mad and writing our congressmen about the corruption in charging networks.

I haven’t misunderstood the word “rate”. Rate means a quantity, amount, or degree. In this case, I’m interpreting the broad term “rate” to mean quantity because you misused the term thinking it is more specific than it actually is. Rate of EV adoption without specifying per capita, can be...
  8. Taming the chaos that is the center console

I’ve posted this on another thread. Definitely not the cheapest option, but these bag do help organize, fit nicely, and leave room for a bag of baby wipes.
  9. MTB Tailgate Pad

Almost all of the pressure from the straps is horizontal and the down force from the straps is mostly on the back (bed-side) of the tailgate. It’s very gentle on the body. Not the slightest scuff after driving on lots of curves and bumps in the mountains.

Relatively low rate of EV adoption? Texas has the 3rd highest number of EV’s in the country. No concern about the grid at this time?? Looks like Texas is very concerned at this time: https://www.thedrive.com/news/tesla-asks-texan-owners-to-limit-charging-due-to-heat-wave
  11. MTB Tailgate Pad

I like this option bc you don’t have to strap anything to the tailgate to collect debris and block the light bar. This is on my daughter’s bike:
  12. Truck goes into park when I am in reverse

Definitely the lifting of your butt while reversing. I learned this lesson in our Tesla MS. I do like this safety feature bc our young daughters like to play in the car. It’s comforting knowing that they can’t accidentally put it into gear. I didn’t know the truck had this feature bc I’ve taught...
  13. R1T and Mountain Biking

I’ve had good luck with this: https://www.tsugagear.us/product-page/pisgah-pad-single-set It’s a pad made by a a company local to my hometown (Boone, NC). I ride a road bike and cross bike, but it was made for mountain bikes with large down tubes. Also, it stows easily under the back seat or...
  14. We all should be mad and writing our congressmen about the corruption in charging networks.

The article explicitly states a few times that the Tesla chargers would support non-Tesla vehicles. Here is one of the multiple times it is mentioned: “It was interesting because Tesla applied for grants through the program to help fund building what could become the first Superchargers that...
  15. We all should be mad and writing our congressmen about the corruption in charging networks.

My guess is that this may have something to do with Texas’s terrible power grid. They have a certain amount of VW grant money. If that amount can be used to build 1000 ChargePoint dc fast chargers or 4000 Tesla superchargers, maybe they opt for fewer chargers. If their grid can’t handle a couple...
  16. Officially Unofficial R1T Aftermarket Accessories Discussion + Reviews

I could see coffee bean, especially in that brown color. I went with 2 shades of blue. The center console is great bc it’s so deep, but we found it difficult to find an organizer that fit such a deep space. Not totally sure this is what we’ll stick with, but works pretty well so far.
