  2. SF Bay Area to Lakeside Montana - Trip Report

Mannnnnn I looked at carmax and caravan for a long time. I concluded I wanted Gen 2 and full warranty knowing this is very much a startup (I know I know). I’ll throw on the hitch carrier this week and send photos. I used in on my Subi before with the FE501 and it worked great.
  3. SF Bay Area to Lakeside Montana - Trip Report

The dual max performance is an excellent choice. I went with the tri due to the interior preference but almost did the dual. The truck has a kneel function! So using a ramp or putting a MTB on the tail gate is super easy. Also no need for steps.
  4. SF Bay Area to Lakeside Montana - Trip Report

I would say that I was in a similar position. I was looking for a pickup truck to do it all, but for me specifically, I also wanted to be able to do long-distance trips. I also didn't want a third car sitting in the driveway that needed registration and maintenance, so it had to be something...
  5. SF Bay Area to Lakeside Montana - Trip Report

I actually have the hitch carrier and I will probably test it out at some point.

  7. SF Bay Area to Lakeside Montana - Trip Report

I made my annual dirt biking pilgrimage up to Lakeside, Montana, but this time to prove my petrol-head friends that EVs are awesome, I used my R1T as the primary hauler. Distance: 2200 miles round trip Average miles per kWh: 2 Setup: 20” AT Pirelli Scorpion, R1T Tri-Max, running in conserve...

Thanks. Any recommendations on hotels with L2 chargers?
  9. SF Bay Area to Boulder CO - R1T - Charging Recommendations

Good info on EVGO. I generally avoid them, and would rather use Rivian, EA with the monthly $7 20% discount, or Tesla with the $10 monthly 25% discount. I've done the I-70 route with my Subaru in heavy/deep snow coming back from Chicago, since 80 was closed. I actually really enjoyed the...
  10. Mills Peak, Sierra Buttes CA - R1T Fun

I finally had a chance to take my R1T off-road in the north Sierra. I snagged 2 photos, but needless to say, hank the tank didn’t have any issues climbing rocks or steep dirt roads.
  11. SF Bay Area to Boulder CO - R1T - Charging Recommendations

Hello, I’m planning a trip with my 70lbs furry friend in early November from the SF Bay Area to Boulder CO, and back 10 days later. Has anyone done the leg and/or have recommendations on charging and logging with a furry friend? I researched the Tesla and other charging stations, Nevada being...
  12. Finally — Apple Wallet Car Key is Activated!

Did you even say “Thank you, Tim Cook” once? Did you? CarPlay next…
  13. 2025.26 Update Release Notes

If we could just focus on bug fixes, like the camp speaker not turning on every 10 min. That would be great…. Mmaaaokay
  14. Tailgate Net Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a tailgate net that will reach all the way to the back of the tailgate and the Rivian R1T mounting points with the tailgate down? I'm looking to have multiple motorcycles on the bed and I wouldn't mind a net wrapping around the back wheels. Thanks
  15. Hot take: Google Maps is not really much of an upgrade

Hmmm, I'm going to go ahead and blame Google Maps. Or the integration of Google Maps as the reason bugs were introduced, and basic functionality suffered. I had a perfectly functioning truck into this release.
