Oooh. The flatbed is promising. Useful for delivering cars to customers as well as bring cars that can't be serviced via mobile to the shop. But which comes first?
You may not know, or may not be allowed to answer, but are you aware of work on a set of pillars or a ladder rack to raise the bed cross-bars to roof height?
Think self-driving mode with the dog behind the wheel. Really freaks out other drivers.
Actually, it's a mode that keeps the climate control working while your car is parked with the dog(s) in it.
I'm hoping the A/Ts do well in snow, but will probably carry a set of these as an alternative to chains. AutoSock - Better Than the Best Tire Chains - Shop Tire & Snow Socks
Yeah. I thought the inflatable insulated insert was particularly neat. Will come in handy here where temps change dramatically with elevation.
It's not listed on their web page yet, but many of their other projects appear to have started on Kickstarter/Indiegogo and ended up available at...
I love it! I was trying to figure out how I was going to get my 65lb Husky in and out of my Crua Aer tent ( Crua AER - The Roof Top Tent: Reimagined | Indiegogo ) mounted on the bed of my R1T without a long (or spiral) ramp.
We have a chance to be proactive on this rather than griping about speculation. How about a new, clean, and clutter-free (good luck with that one) of what features should be included for life with purchase vs. what could be in the subscription? Suggest tiers. Suggest free 1st year for...
Do you all think that the strut and tie-rod failures would be covered under warranty?
I was hoping to be the first to run Black Bar in an R1T. Maybe the 1st production rig?
The must have a lockout on the gear tunnel doors as well as the frunk, and most likely the tailgate. Allowing the frunk to open while in motion would block the driver's view, and if they were driving fast enough, potentially rip the hood off. With everything Rivian has thought about I'd be...
While I got to see an R1T at the Outdoor Retailer show in Denver in 2019, it looks like I'll actually get to touch and ride in a Ford Lightning before the Rivian (Sept 20th here in Denver).:(

Keep in mind that some manufacturers measure ski length by dropping a plum line from tip to ground, others measure along the base surface (thus the latter are shorter than the former). Obviously none of this matters if you can measure your own skis, but a useful reference for making general...
While Rivian has the patent for an aux battery in the bed, the main reason I don't think we'll see one any time soon is there is no provision for plugging it in to the main pack, at least nothing that's been shown or talked about. Not gonna want to run long charging cable to the front port...
I'd also been planning to get a couple of these, till I did the range calculation and came to the same conclusion as you, very little bang for the buck.
