  1. 21" AS wheels on gnarly mud, ice, and snow towing 2 snowmobiles -- tires performed very well!

Indeed, it was. That pic was about halfway up the private property (40,000 acres !!!). There was much deeper and better untracked powder farther up. I just didn't take the time to take pics. I'm getting back into it after 10 years of no riding. I have maybe been 20 times in my life, but...
  2. 21" AS wheels on gnarly mud, ice, and snow towing 2 snowmobiles -- tires performed very well!

FWIW, my 21" wheels/tires performed VERY well yesterday while towing 2 snowmobiles to my buddy's ranch yesterday @backcountrysnow.com . Pretty much, some of the worst conditions possible with mud, snow, and ice. Very few cars/trucks on Chalk Creek road, but one guy had slid off the road into...
  3. Regen Brakes Auto Disable on steep road?

This. You can see the small snowflake icon next to the accel/regen indicator on the dash. Has happened to me a lot with the extremely cold and snowy winter in Utah. Definitely caught me off guard the first time it happened. It has even happened to me on days where it has been in the 50F temp...
  4. My Midnight Black Rivian R1S Gets Yakima Stage 2 Bike Rack

Nice! Great looking ride. However, I've never been a fan of tow hitch bike racks. I simply don't trust these texting, distracted, and possibly unisured drivers (I have uninsured driver protection myself) out there not to plow into the back of me. Not only causing damage to my Rivian (or any...
  5. Snow performance check-in....focus on tires.

My experience has been completely different in Utah where we've received record snowfall statewide. ALTA ski resort is quickly closing in on 900" for the season. I've driven my 21s in horrible road conditions around town, to/from Bear Lake, and to my friend's snowmobile guide ranch of 40,000...
  6. Summary of Webcast w/ Rivian CFO, Including R2 News & Other Good Info

Apologies, I'm an R1T owner, so I was coming more from that line of thinking. Yes, indeed, the R1S is likely being driven my many women. I guess I was just referring to the fact that crossovers, like those I mentioned, are EXTREMELY popular, with men and women alike (although I see more women...
  7. Summary of Webcast w/ Rivian CFO, Including R2 News & Other Good Info

The R2, while still 2.5 - 3 years off will be a game changer. This will bring in the mostly non-existent "soccer mom" element (along the lines of Audi Q5, BMW X2, Volvo XC 60, etc). Good report from the CFO. I'm long RIVN.
  8. Opportunities For Improvement

There are selectable levels of regen.
  9. Official Rivian Outage Notification: “Phone as a key” is down

I always carry card in wallet and have FOB with me. Not a hassle and the FOB is 2nd nature to me with current and past vehicles for years now. I don't understand people's hatred of FOBs. Since adding it as a proximity entry and lock, it has worked 95% perfectly. I've had to manually use FOB...
  10. What do you use your R1T bed for? (Picture Edition)

No pictures, but I've been hauling lumber, new cased doors, furniture etc. for several residential remodels, and new build house. Even though I've tried to protect the bed with tarps, etc. there are still some nicks in the plastic on tailgate and other places. Some may recall my post about the...
  11. Brake Light Activation Poll

Agree with this. I hate when it looks like I'm riding my brakes. I frequently look at the dash screen icon and cringe when the brake lights come on when I'm gently coasting to a stop or decelerating. It really bugs me when people come racing up to a stop light and slam the brakes at the last...
  12. 2023 R1S delivered and it's a beauty

Congrats. Now you just need some AW floor mats. :like:
  13. R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

10-4. So what you're saying is that the prices being show are potentially pre-March '22 pricing?
  14. R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

Forgive my ignorance and I'm not about to go through and read this whole thread. I have an R1T and I'm not in the market for an R1S, but I'm surprised to see the relatively "reasonable" prices on all these R1s vehicles in shop. I assume they're being snatched up at a high clip.
  15. Delivery Issue - Missing Full Sized Spare

Your Service Center sounds like it was a shit show. I think you meant to say "disorganized" in your post. That sucks. The SLC, SC has been VERY impressive and they've been very fast, thorough, and communicative with me in my 3 visits. Very organized and well run. When I spoke with one of...
  16. Delivery Issue - Missing Full Sized Spare

I was in the same boat. Last fall, I drove from SLC, UT to Coronado, CA and was able to meet up with a guy in Ontario, CA who had delivery with 21" AS wheels, but then bought a set of 22" Sports, so he had four 21"s for sale. I bought one from him so I could have a spare.
  17. Alignment - pulling to the left

I like the 'lane keeping' setting on the Rivian, along with the 'false rumble strip' effect if you drift off far right or left lanes. My Audi S6 has lane keeping as well, but it's more subtle than the R1T. We should not have to turn off all these options just to keep alignment correct - it's...
  18. Alignment - pulling to the left

It was improved after the SC. However, I got it back from its 3rd time at the SC for myriad reasons, mainly gear tunnel panels weren't aligned. But I'd also heard an irregular clunking noise on a 180 drive from front left area, so they did full inspection, lube, etc. and 5 wheel tire rotation...
