Why is that? Jeep makes more than just Wranglers. My Jeep is the best selling model and they sell a lot of them every year. And it's good on-road and off-road.
Exactly my point. The bigger range and faster charging speeds are going to be difficult for Rivian to overcome. It's too bad they didn't go world class on the battery technology for the R2. I guess they just needed to do everything possible to keep the price down.
Exactly. I think the vast majority of people who buy offroad capable vehicles do it for the image much more so than actual capabilities of the vehicle.
I think it's an on-road vehicle, so that's why I said Rivian has an advantage for the camper crowd. But the BMW has some big advantages too. The battery size and fast charging performance is going to be huge for BMW. I think Rivian missed the mark with the charging performance of the R2 and the...
Just do what I do (with my Jeep)....put it in the low mode about 10 seconds before you park. Then the suspension will be done adjusting by the time you're ready to exit the vehicle.
I think it's going to be a bumpy road for Rivian and the R2. Car sales in general aren't great, but then again that could potentially lead to some pent up demand eventually. The bigger concern is the competition in the segment. I think BMW is positioned to steal some sales for sure, even though...
Hmm...I always thought those touchless wash machines had sensors that are supposed to adjust the spray arms for different vehicles of various sizes. Think about a low sports car versus a tall SUV. That overhead spray arm should adjust to maintain the proper distance, no?
According to scientists, the first Ice Age that we've been able to prove happened more than 2,000,000,000 years ago. This isn't my opinion, this is what science tells us. The planet will naturally warm after an Ice Age, right? And we're currently at the tail end of an Ice Age, right? Do we...
Earth has had Ice Ages for millions, maybe billions of years. We are at the tail end of an Ice Age right now. The planet will naturally warm during this period, right? I'm not denying the concept of global warming, I'm simply saying that it will still happen no matter what we do. The planet...
Right, the sun will end our planet no matter what. If you listen to scientists, they predict we have about a billion years remaining withEarth being in habitable. Millions of years before the sun "explodes" all of the water on Earth will be boiled off by the expanding sun as it runs out of...
Hopefully, humanity will continue. But we're talking about 10,000 years from now and the next ICE Age will still happen no matter what we do to the planet. It's a pretty predictable pattern from what I've learned. And 5 billion years from now, the sun will explode, ending Earth altogether...
I'm an example of someone who was VERY interested in switching from ICE to EV, but ultimately decided against it, at least for now. Why? Well, it certainly wasn't to save money because I never saw EVs as being less expensive overall. The price of gas versus electricity has never mattered to me...
I remember one of my teachers in high school told us that too. That was back in the 80s. But let's be realistic.....nobody alive to read this today will be alive the day that the planet has no more oil remaining.
I most definitely wouldn't have been wrong if they stayed with the plan to build the R2 in Georgia, which is when I made my prediction. And only time will tell if I still won't be wrong even after they changed the plans to build them in Illinois.
Buffalo looked atrocious and actually should have won the game at the very end. Although the Eagles won, it's not a good look for them at all. I don't see them getting far in the playoffs.
No idea if this is accurate or not, but I just want to point out that I said long ago that we wouldn't see a single production R2 sold in calendar year 2026. So let's see what happens... BTW, that was also back when they had to build the production facility in Georgia. :)
