I had originally wondered why they didn't offer a rear cargo cover, then I thought to myself that I could hide anything I needed to in the frunk, so maybe it was one of those accessories that was a relic of the past. I do tend to use cargo covers. But with the frunk, I'm hoping I won't need one.
just give us a web browser at the least so that we can get to the web app versions of Apple Music, Pandora, whatever. (*cough* also google maps *cough*)
he's just trying to make it harder for Rivian to find capital when they eventually need to raise more cash in a few years. It's a long game, but if you erode trust enough, they definitely will go bankrupt, not because they don't have a good product, not because they can't scale, not because they...
I mean, we can't really confirm any of these are deliveries to non Rivian employees. However, 3 months ago, there were almost 0 sightings of R1S's in the wild. So A handful of production-ready in the wild is a sign they are moving in the right direction.
I don't know why anyone believes any delivery window that Rivian puts out unless you are already assigned a guide. Rivian has changed priority for shipping FIVE times already, launch editions with max pack first, to launch editions with large pack first, to launch editions and adventure trim, to...
I'm going to bet that the R1S Max pack configuration will only be available with the new pricing. They're already losing money on every vehicle even with the new pricing. It makes close to zero sense to voluntarily take a $20k wash on a profit if it wasn't an option when pricing was locked in...
They are not making R1S's en masse yet. They have to get through the employee prototypes first. We'll know they are done once we see the news article about the 22 year old that wrapped an R1S around a pole getting off the highway in Irivine. Once the new hires get theirs, then they'll start mass...
I don't understand the delay, they totally sold their first 2 R1S's in 2021 and shared the huge news with investors. They wouldn't possibly sell a prototype version dressed up as the final version to company employees and not real customers just to influence the stock price would they?:lipssealed:
Alexa supports Apple Music as a skill on the Echo... So is it explicitly excluded in the Rivian for some reason? Also, for any other music besides Spotify, Can you control the songs/playlists via the screen in the car once Alexa learn's the skill for that music service? Or do you just get to say...
Tesla has one. I don't see why they wouldn't include that in a Rivian. I know they want a closed ecosystem so that they can maximize recurring service fees, but if they're not going to support Apple Music, or Netflix, etc for awhile, that would be a nice compromise, IMO.
Selfishly, I am stoked that it's so close to the western stop on the Metra. Plus they're supposedly building a new green line stop on Lake and Damen. This is really a great location logistically. Easy access for folks in the city and many burbs.
I just got off a chat with Rivian CS about capabilities of the current lineup of the R1 given that the investor statement shared yesterday implied that vehicle to home and 800V architecture are still in development and are apparently tied to the release of their new in-house motor.
They stated...
