  2. Update: Fast repair! Minor leak caused AC fail 2023 R1S

No, they did not ask for the hard reset. Wish they had given that option to try! They said mobile service would be faster and hopefully they would be able to repair it on site. Also, they wanted to try to minimize our time without the Rivian because the SC here is backed up. @LL75 Thanks! I...
  3. Service solved my noisy/rattly AC compressor issue

Hooray! This is giving me hope for my AC issues. Sadly, my SC wait it another month while iy is in the 90’s here ???
  4. AC compressor noise and shutdown on and off

My AC was loud but working ok given enough time. Now it is ONLY blowing warm air and not cooling at all. SC appt is in October but they “expedited it” to the end of Aug, 7 weeks after initial appt. We are miserable every day in our new car (2023 R1S, delivery March 2024) ???
  5. Update: Fast repair! Minor leak caused AC fail 2023 R1S

Thank you. Yes, it took a while to cool down but it did get cold before. No warning signs. It blows warm air even if it has been set to LOW and the highest AC fan settings for an hour. Rivian just called back and now the Aug 7th appt they offered before is gone. I need to wait until Aug 20th for...
  6. Update: Fast repair! Minor leak caused AC fail 2023 R1S

AC is not blowing cool air anymore on our R1S. I know this is not a unique problem. Anyone with a similar issue have an idea on SC repair time? Several calls with SC, did remote diagnostics with time stamps (they have no idea what is wrong). I am still waiting for a quicker appt. The two dates...
  7. Customer Satisfaction Campaign -- Overfilled Refrigerant System may cause poor air conditioning / battery cooling (slower level 3 charging)

We noticed the pull to the right right after delivery on our 2023 R1S. SC repaired it rather quickly however we did have to call repeatedly to get an appt asap. A few months later, we have an AC unit that is not cooling AT ALL. It was working well before, although it took longer to cool than...
  8. KIA EV9 vs. Rivian R1S: Comprehensive Overview, Key Questions, Buy or Lease Scenarios?

I’m glad it was helpful. While we don’t have a big family, we sure do haul a lot of kids/gear. Yesterday we went to the beach, the frunk held a costco collapsible wagon, 2 boogie boards (on their sides) and beach bags. The back had a pop up shade, 3 camp chairs, & a cooler. My friends rode with...
  9. KIA EV9 vs. Rivian R1S: Comprehensive Overview, Key Questions, Buy or Lease Scenarios?

Excellent write up between the two vehicles for our first EV purchase! We were strongly considering both before ultimately purchasing an R1S. For us, the storage space is also crucial. We have two older kids and 2 dogs. While the captains chairs are great for kids, we find they are not great...
  10. Level 3 extension cable?

100% we need options for those of us who use the tow hitch!
  11. BRAND NEW 2024 R1S AC DOESN’T WORK

Oh wow. That definitely does not sound good, especially in the rear vents. My front AC is a surprisingly loud hum. Only when turned on the highest setting though.. Thankfully, I can adjust down after a few mins and it stops. Hope they get you in to fix it ASAP!
  12. BRAND NEW 2024 R1S AC DOESN’T WORK

Oof. So sorry. We have an R1S that we picked up in April. A few tips on AC with kids in case you have not tried/discovered this yet; you probably have but these helped my family a ton. -make sure middle row and rear vents are on (wavy blue lines) and turned on full blast. ***you have to click...
  13. PSA about using Discount Tire - watch them like a hawk

Yikes! Sorry to hear that happened to you and so many others here. Will avoid discount tire and have ordered my own set of magnetic jack pucks! It doesn’t seem worth the risk unless you can babysit them during the entire tire service. Genius idea @madgrey Saved this in case of tire emergency...
