speculating still even though we're a day away because it's fun. Looks like the complaints about the weird warping of the roof around the liftgate could be explained by it being the spoiler. and that the roof is actually shorter and sloped down early with the spoiler being an extension to make...
so, brighten screen looks like its a full liftgate and no split tailgate. anyone else agree?
maybe license plate mounted to rear bumper like R1T instead of tailgate like R1S
Agreed, if like 110v and lighting control in mobile app. Annoying when I’m working out of the trunk in R1s (changing a diaper) and the lights time out and I need to run to the front to turn in the lights.
For what it’s worth, my old ones clicked but never clicked tightly, tried adjusting didn’t work, sent service request and they gave me new ones. Very happy about that actually since my old ones had a bit of wear.
I received the OpensourceEV versions last night too and I had the same observations:
Regarding weight, it is lighter than my prototypes but my prototypes might have been overkill, they were triangular 25% infill.
Item 2: I noticed this with the opensource ones and then I went back to my...
Pictures to aid in my descriptions
1mm gap between Riser and Plastic lip
Once risers are in place
Step 1: Pull floor onto risers as shown in red
Step 2: Push floor down onto green.
Update:
I my friend printed me the center post for the original 62mm height so i was able to test. My R1S has been in service for minor things but I just got my hands on an R1S loaner from the SC. It looks like a very old revision of the R1S, the trunk rails are different, it has 4 tie downs...
The original ones in the first post are 62mm, you can see that from this angle the floor looks pretty level with the slats above the compressor door. But the 2nd and 3rd row incline a little when folded so the 57mm ones were made to get this transition a bit smoother. that's 5mm about 0.2inches...
The files are open source licensed on the links in the edited first post, have at it! If you feel inclined there’s a “buy me a coffee” PayPal link.
thanks!
Yes I did. But there’s already gaps on the side and on the edge near the tailgate the tailgate itself covers most of it. I also didn’t want to use too much material and I wanted to make it small enough to easily stow away.
Excited to see what people think when they start printing/getting them. My R1S has been at the service center since I started the thread for fit and finish concerns so I haven't been able to mess with anything.
For those who are impatient like me and would like to give my version a go I have uploaded two versions.

I'll be sure to throw a "buy me a beer" venmo link or something when we get this out.
Either way, this has been a fun process since conception, and glad I can contribute to the community. I've printed a few of Rob's Opensource designs so I'm happy to be involved.
The red lines are the the original support when used in the "ramp" mode. So by deduction, Rivian is saying that supporting solely along the two longer sides is enough. My original supports used the upper red lines and the two blue L's. Under initial unscientific testing where I put some weight...
