Just buy the $150 adapter. Then you can use any Tesla destination charger (not supercharger).
In theory Tesla will add CCS connectors to existing supercharger stations though. In theory. But we're gonna be stuck in dual-standard-land for a while. This reminds of the lightning vs micro-USB days...
Any recent deliveries seeing similar issues to what's in this video?
Calling out some instances where build quality is getting worse as production ramps up.
Panel gaps don't look any worse than what I'm used to with my current and previous Tesla, but there are other issues like dents/ripples...
Just checked into this since I remember reading about it in the past; the Model 3/Y use an induction motor in the front, which has much lower idle losses compared to a permanent magnet motor. So on the highway, it's just free-spinning, while the rear permanent magnet motor does the propulsion...
Also I have to wonder if Car and Driver tested the range in All-purpose mode, or in Conserve Mode. Aren't people easily beating the EPA range in Conserve mode?
And why can't Rivian dynamically engage/disengage two of the drive wheels depending on power requirements, like Tesla does? Why require...
I would agree on range in terms of how much distance you'd need on trips; but the key metric is how quickly can you charge for the next leg of your journey. Say you're driving 2.5-3 hours at a time, then 200 miles of range could handle that for a trip. But if that 200 miles is nearly your...
Answering my own question about charging cord reach - I found a few extension cords on Amazon, but Lectron makes 20/40 ft 240V/40A extension cables and they are a reputable company.
With the 20ft extension I could charge anywhere in the garage or driveway.
I have an R1T on order and based on measurements, the truck should fit... technically. Around 8" to spare lengthwise, and I'll have to park right up against the passenger wall, which I already have to do with my Model 3 to make room for my wife's Ascent which shares the 2-car space.
But I still...
I’m sure it’ll be capable of 1000V charging but that will be a moot point for most drivers, because the 1000V charging stations aren’t exactly going to be ubiquitous - at least for a very long time.
I have both a CT on order as well as R1T (as of yesterday) so they will probably be ready for me...
