Wow!!!! The top side shot..my new fave WHITE pic, OMG! Do you have a higher res version you can drop us? Or is it in one of the many media reviews? Thanks a million! ?
I would like to see a video of 1) the tailgate dropping while tonneau is fully deployed (CS said it could), and 2) someone crawling inside under tonneau to retrieve items in the event tonneau fails to open.

How did you and your wife like the white exterior? My wife is leaning white, Iām leaning silver. With all the extras weāre adding..Iām not willing to pony a lot more for the other colors (paid $800 for our āBenz color in 2017, was semi-reasonable I guess..but still basically my limit now.)...
Both.
RIT Max to: 1) replace 2010 4Runner (175k, still tight and quiet), 2) add a stronger more capable tow vehicle (lessen load and miles on the MB GLE43), and 3) help push EVs.
R1S: possibly replace the 2017 GLE43..depending on how things unfold (how well the truck works, the market, used car...
I might add that I just recently asked the same question about the Max Pack R1T - and received the same answer as you, no change to the payload capacity. What will be interesting is to see the two GVWRs for Max and regular packs.
Somewhat similar..I asked about the load rating for all 3...
Excellent new thread for me, thanksā¦
I too will need at least a 2nd wheelset. Configured the R1T with the OEM 21ā package and spare. For winter I need a dedicated snow tire. Iām okay with the OEM 20ā rim..but no real word yet if Rivian will allow us to order a set of 4 (or 5) of the rims only...
Yeah..Iām thinking that a higher percentage of future Rivian owners - truck or SUV, compared to other current EVs - are intending to either tow and / or use them off road. Both of those āuse casesā will chew up the battery / range.
In my case I want to be able to drag the trailer 50-75 miles...
Yep, same experience here. Major league hassles, emails, they NEVER could/would merge my 2 vehicles under 1 account, I had to forcefully via phone always insist to pay by check, had to cut them off of my credit card and so forth. Finally gave up on them. Really bad mgmnt and customer service...
Since skiing is one of my important winter use cases..I may be in luck stashing my Moment Deathwish 184ās diagonally in the bed. Tip to tip I measured them today at 71.75ā straight line.
I spoke with CS today and a nice lady replied with..
āusing the Pythagorean theory, I can provide a rough...
Totally agree with all your wisdom and experience, it matches mine.
Pure snow tires equate to really big risk reduction. Over a full winter for those of us dealing with it, real snow tires greatly reduce chances of going off the road, hitting another car, causing injury - and avoiding higher...
I would like the Apple iOS app. Although Iāve never loaded or used it on our 2017 MBenz. While camping in our RV we use Spotify into the trailer speakers, assuming we can get a cellular signal. Otherwise we play it from saved / downloaded on phone.
Totally agree. My experience and current use case absolutely dictate a dedicated snowtire (usually mounted early Dec, removed by early May..at local tire shops either free or like $25 since itās essentially a tire rotation). I drive 30-40 round trips to our local ski area, plus sometimes 2-3...
I like that middle pic option. It matches very well with the narrow white / silverish roof line on the R1S. The balanced look appeals to me..at least in the picture and in that car color choice.
Yep, sure looks that way. When closed / extended the tonneau cover is keeping that resting ledge wet for too long. First glance I was hopeful it was just dust, dirt, etc. Which does make me wonder about repeated exposure to sand in that entire mechanism. I can keep the rail areas clean, but...
Oh hey Bruce.
Itās a 2021 XLS 17MKE..with a non-optional normal dinette. We had a little trouble finding it; seems most dealers carry / list only the ātheatre seatingā option. Our listed UVW on the stickers is 4634. But we had a 2-battery, single solar panel (and charging controller) system...
