This is a Rivian forum. I have a R2 reservation andviwn a Ford Mach E which has varying ( you get to set) regenerative braking settings). The Mach E rolls considerably more than any hybrid I have own including a current 10 year old Rav4 hybrid.

If this forum does have current Rivian employees who are in the process of receiving their R2, how soon can they answer questions from the general public? Does this forum need to post questions in different categories that employees can input on without releasing their names?

Good news for some owners of vehicles purchased after Jan 1 2025 And made in the USA. I will let others expand on this thread.

Agree. Two to two and half hours of driving then 20-25 minutes of on your feet works well. Done multiple 800 mile road trips in past three years using this formula. Bad weather can shorten the distance traveled in one day.

With the Rivian at 100f at the start of a dcfc what will the peak kW be at 20%? 20 to 80% fill time remains around 28 minutes for a 100kWh battery?

My Ford Mach E only heats to 59f (battery temperature). Owners believe it is related to concerns about battery health as DCFC will warm the battery significantly. Next question: how warm does the battery get while dcfc? Seeking information on how well Rivian provides thermal regulation.

Any battery degradation over time is a myth.........real world results of future and proposed EV's with the 1.0MW charging have yet to be documented. That is a heck of a lot of electrons moving and is the battery thermal regulation robust enough to support such?

No because I am waiting for Lidar and the price tag associated with it.

Lidar or other lack of it on the Launch edition is a bummer. I am waiting for Lidar to arrive with its price tag.

Both the R2 Launch and Premium have an "optional" tow package. I do not know if they both are rated for the same capacity. We don't know the cost for this option. Find out in about 100 days.

I must be one of the few who had 60 months ony 12v battery in my 2021 Mach E before putting a new one in.

The above article mentions Rivian is able to scale the R2 up to 155,000 units a year. If there are 300,000 reservations then current reservation holder will have them by Q3 202?

I moved here to get more winter outdoor activity such as Nordic skiing. Spent over 4 hours outside yesterday at those temperatures.
