Yes you can use a credit card. It drives me nuts when people try to make this comparison. Rivian's deposit is $1000 while Tesla's and Ford's is $100. Not even close to the same level of commitment.

Why is this bad news if you have more than 2 kids in car seats? My car seat brand actually recommends NOT using the Isofix and using the seatbelt to attach instead.
