If the R2 get the 800V pack, it would be interesting to see how Rivian will handle the 400V charging, such as splitting the battery in two sets of 400V like for the Cybertruck, or using an inverter like Porsches and Kya/Hyundai are doing?
Thank you for your quick reply. In your book the Mac and Mike story is very clever!
You should mention that in some US states, collecting rainwater needs a permit.
I'm in Northern California and PG&E only gives pennies for solar energy during the day, and
in the evening you will pay full rate...
I am curious to know the size of your batteries for charging at night and for home consumption?
Note: I liked your website and your book.
Did you described your solar system on some web site? Are you also off-grid?
I used Google search and entered the following sentence:
"Can you program a specific route using the Tesla phone App and then send the route to a Tesla navigation?"
And I got the following answer:
Sharing from another Map App (e.g., Google Maps)

I quite often go hiking in the mountains, but I can tell you that just after sunset I generally I get an invasion of mosquitoes and I have to stay inside my tent to do any cooking and eating.
I wonder if you have any similar experience while using your open air kitchen?
Well, to answer to your question, best would be to try it !!!
Basically Tesla AutoPilot is mostly a smart Cruise control.
While, still up to some limits, FSD is really driving the car.
See for example this video:

Note: It would be...
I noticed those treads dealing with removing the middle seat and thinking it could be useful in the future for someone looking for finding extra space to carry stuff:
- Those treads are quite long so I put some pictures as summary.
- Interesting discussion was to consider using two 40% seats...
Don't let VW and Bosh then play with the Rivian software to make a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) version of it, which could be a possibility, and make another emissions-cheating Dieselgate !!! LoL
I wonder if anyone tried removing the rear seat to get more space,
something useful when carrying bulky furniture, such as computer chairs?
Note: I always try doing it in older vehicles that I own, but sometime the seatbelt for the center seat is attached to the seat leanback part. So a piece...
If you don't have the need for a big lockable box, you can use and stack some storage bins instead on top of the platform.
When empty, the platform can be folded vertically to help when parking.
Beside Icing, I quite often experiencing public L2 chargers been vandalised regularly by having their cable been cut short.
This is quite frustrating because you cannot rely too much on this type of service and you need to have enough charge to be able to search for another charger.
I wonder...
Looking at the videos, I noticed that the driver door don't seems to have an handle,
and the rear passenger door has the door handle outside.
Does this mean that the vehicle is unlocked?
If the 12 V battery is drained, how do you open the vehicle if it was locked?
I was looking at this article mentioning that Kia has developed a motor with six wires:
Deep Dive Into Kia’s Innovative Dual-Wye-and-Delta EV Motor Configurations
This could be something to consider?
In fact, does Rivian plan using 800V technology?
