Well this was a fun couple of days. Not it’s back to waiting. Looking forward to getting the pricing of the various options, looking forward to a configurator, an ability to order, and the chance for a demo drive.
I would tend to agree, at least on the paint options and interior, as there is just less surface to cover. The wheels and tires option might be similar to an R1 though.
I have no idea how you would get to $70k on a LE that's $57,990 plus destination. Are you adding accessories, taxes, registration, fees, etc.? Without taxes and other fees, even choosing the most expensive paint, interior and wheels should still keep it under $70k.
I must be blind or just losing it, because I still can't find the 307 mile range figure on AT wheels and tires.
Also, when are we going to find out the costs of the options for paint, interior and wheels??
Agree it's hitting a target. But my point is it's an extremely watered down version of an R2 with specs that wouldn't have been impressive in 2024, let alone late 2027. That's why I wouldn't expect it to last long or sell very well.
Agreed. It won't be a Tesla killer. The LE seems to be a great value, but the rest of the pricing could be a bit disappointing depending on the paint color and option costs.
As others have said too, the R2 Standard is going to be a major disappointment and will be cancelled fairly quickly. They...
The pricing sounds great. However, I'm seriously doubting the specs, more specifically the range estimate.
330 miles on a 87.9 kwh battery equates to 3.75 mi/kWh.
That only seems remotely possible in low speed, around town, frequent stops type of trips.
FYI... The "starting at $45,000" was not completely removed from the website. If you hover over the R2 label at the top of the website, you get the above which you can see in the top right still says starting at $45,000.
Apologies if this has already been said. If so, I must have missed it.
This assumes that consumers have no price sensitivity. By that logic, why not price it at $60k? Add another $2,500 per vehicle, and don't leave another $62.5M in revenue on the table!
The "meet the full lineup" and "pricing, options and more announced March 12" caught my eye and got me more excited. I was expecting to see the Launch Edition pricing, specs and options. But if we get the full lineup, with all of the necessary specs for each, and the ability to configure and...
Two things:
1) This forum does not loosely represent R2 reservation holders. This forum is full of fanboys and EV enthusiasts, not the typical car/EV/R2 reservation holder/buyer.
2) The conversion rate will be nowhere near 50%. Any manufacturer would be lucky to convert 25% of those...
Do we know the expected range or mi/kWh with the 40 sDrive or xDrive? If the 40 xDrive gets over 350 miles of range, has fast charging, and is under $55k, then that is going to be a very competitive vehicle.
I also reserved 2 of them on Day 1. Definitely won't be buying 2 of them. I'd say it's 50/50 at best that I buy even 1.
The conversion rate on reservations will likely be under 25%.
This would be acceptable, assuming it has a bare minimum range of 320 miles.
Under 320 miles of range would be an embarrassment for a large/max battery pack.
And the price needs to be under $60k including paint, interior and wheel options for this to be a success.
Price and range seem to be...
We have a 2022 For Mustang Mach e, 30k miles in 3.5 years. The maintenance has been less than $300 during that time while following the suggested maintenance schedule. The tires have not needed to be replaced yet.
We also have a 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron, 31k miles in just under 3 years. Maintenance...
I'm not conflating it at all. If the Launch Edition, which is the dual motor AWD performance model, is $55-65k, I think they're in trouble. Because the consensus on these forums seems to be that the "base", or "mass market version" as you call it, will be a smaller battery RWD single motor...
