  1. Gen 2 quad release date.

Yes, I was just talking about the Tri. I’ve stopped counting the Gen 2 Duals I see each day here because there are just too many to keep track. In Sacramento, the total of Gen 2 Dual + Tri might have now overtaken the total of Gen 1 Quad + Dual.
  2. Costco and Electrify America partnering for select Costco chargers

The new Sacramento (Natomas) Costco has 10 of these total. These two by the entrance and 8 more a bit further away. Pricing last night was $0.46/kWh.
  3. Gen 2 quad release date.

I see them driving around all the time here in Sacramento, saw three (2x R1S & 1x R1T) driving around town here yesterday alone. Earlier this week in Truckee they were also thick on the ground so they seem to be selling fairly well.
  4. To FOB, or not to FOB?

I only bring my fob to the car wash or if I’m going somewhere where I may valet the car. Outside of that using my phone has been flawless and a related bonus has been using voice commands through my AirPods or Apple Watch to open the frunk or liftgate when my hands are full. The original fob I...
  5. Costco and Electrify America partnering for select Costco chargers

I think this story is working off some out of date info. The newest Costco in Sacramento already has the co-branded EA chargers and has had them for weeks, if not since that store’s opening a few months ago. I thought the ones at the Loomis Costco also already had the co-branding when I was last...
  6. Does anyone have any updated intel on Rivian V2H status?

Last time that Rivian made any “official” statements about bidirectional charging was at the 2024 Investor Day in June. That came after the announcement about changing charging ports for the R2/R3 and specifically included mention of it being a feature coming to the existing R1 vehicles. So...
  7. Help a prospective buyer pull the trigger (or not)

If you don’t actually need a truck, it sounds like the Ioniq 5 is the logical choice. If you see a use case for a pickup but have reservations about the price difference between your two contenders, maybe look for a used Gen 1 R1T.
  8. s00nish Production Update on Chargers

Is the revised Gen 1 charger going to have an upgrade option again, one that reuses the step down charger I already have? Also, have you looked at doing some sort of Rivian logo inspired diamond pattern in addition to the topo map? Something that would go with the texture on the cargo area in...
  9. All-weather floor mats for Gen1 R1S ?

Ditto on the votes for the LinerX. They provide better coverage than Rivian’s mats and are very easy to clean, whether that’s salt and snow from your shoes and gear or juice from a leaking Costco rotisserie chicken in the trunk.
  10. Winter Tire Recommendation for an 2025 R1T 275 50r22 tire

I have the Michelin X-ICE Snow 275/50R22 on a set of the 22” sport bright and they worked a treat last winter through all sorts of weather around Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. Cost $1,754.13 for a set of five (including the full size spare) to be mounted, balanced, and installed at Costco.
  11. California Sold: Free 22” Pirelli Scorpion Tires in Sacramento, CA

I’m clearing out my garage and getting rid of the tires that I pulled off my 22” wheels to put on winter tires. These were driven on about 3,000 miles and have between 0.2”-0.25” of tread left (see pictures). I can also throw in some wheel bags if whoever takes the tires wants them. I’m not...
  12. Mobile Service- No Doorbell Ring?

I’ve had two mobile visits and both times the tech came to the door when he arrived (same guy both times). In the lead up to the appointments it was always several calls to confirm, including the tech calling when he was leaving the service center (I was first each day and live about 10 min from...
  13. Adding a little extra Security to the Truck, yeti-style

I drew a Gary a couple weeks ago after they first showed the badge off and made it a sticker, gave it a bit more dimension with a couple layers of PPF.
  14. Personal / Vanity Plates, Anyone?

Just got these today after a 5 month wait!
  15. RAN just doesn't work for me it seems

I was at the Sacramento RAN an hour ago and charged no problem there today. I’ve had this payment method not accepted issue there before though and fixed it by adding a new randomly generated card number through one of my credit cards. if you were at the RAN charger on the very right (tempting...
  16. R1S AIR conditioner -- loud deep humming sound ?

I was told at a recent SC appointment for other stuff that the AC compressor fan is running really fast and causes the brake pedal vibration, that it's a known issue, and that the engineering team is working on a software update to limit the max speed of the AC compressor fan.
  17. Living With The Chevy Silverado EV For (Almost) A Week

In this year's WT it seems like you get full blown CarPlay and Android Auto but in the review of the RST I just watched from Out Of Spec it looks like GM has taken those out of the Silverado, as it announced it would be doing with future models.
  18. Living With The Chevy Silverado EV For (Almost) A Week

The sound system is decent/fine but not remarkable.
