It’s funny, LIDAR, RADAD, full self driving etc. doesn’t really mean much to me. I still like to drive my vehicles, even on long road trips.
Not knowing when the 180kwh R1S is coming out is a real bummer.
I could live with 300 miles of range 90% of the time, especially if it gets anywhere near...
If Rivian expects the truck to get 220 in those conditions and Emme’s 167 is correct (and she probably drove the snot out of it), I assume 200 miles is achievable in off-road conditions.
I am pretty good with that. Hell, my Jeep only gets 220 in everyday driving.
It is what it is. It will come out at some point. I assume sometime in December. When that happens, I will have a better idea if I can really afford one, what battery I would get, some options, and color. That’s about it.
What I really want is to see them in person and to maybe drive one...
I wouldn’t t be surprised to see them partner with The North Face since they seem to have teamed up with Alex Honnold and they are one of his main sponsors.
He also believes there are separate order numbers for R1T and R1S. So if you are 40,000 for R1S, there is also a 40,000 for R1T meaning 80,000 total.
I doubt that is true because Rivian said you can switch at time if configuration.
Again, back of the line here, but you have to assume with all of the money they raised, the major additions they are making to the plant, and the fact that they pushed deliveries to Summer, there is a good chance they are pushing for more vehicles being built in the first year than they have...
Of course everything will change when we can configure our vehicles. They flat out said that is more important when I emailed them. Says the guy at the back of the line.
