The model you linked is 1 inch higher. Look at the pics in the OP; it is already a tight fit height wise, not sure the Rivian's floating cover for the well will fit as it should in either position with another inch of height.
You can set the 120V outlets to always on for a specified amount of time (this keeps the inverters powered on). The bigger question is whether the 12V need that to stay on, which I don't have the answer to. With my cooler unit set to middle voltage cut off I have no issues with it staying on and...
There is a voltage draw cut off and I have mine set to the middle setting. Temp has always been maintained on the 12v for me, no issues at all either cooling it down or maintaining temperature.
Glad you like the setup!
Re 12V staying on or not I am not sure. 120v is not on unless you turn them on. 12V is on whenever I plug it in. But I don't know what happens when the vehicle sleeps, as the only way for me to check the cooler is to go to the car. I actually turn on the 120v outlets when I am leaving something...
A quick search, it looks like the Thule fits the same attachment points, price is $10 different. I think the Rivian ones look better with the vehicle personally. Hopefully someone else has used the Thule version and can add some experience.
First let's all agree that a traditional well made cooler packed properly is the ideal solution in regards to both cooler space consumption to cooler interior space, and lack of a heat dissipation problem that electric coolers have; ice melt can be managed by not using loose ice. I concede. But...
I agree, I like dropping to a lower SOC than it recommends. So sometimes (before update that allowed us to remove charge stops) instead of using the Rivian app to plan the trip I would just use it only to get to my next planned stop.
Interested to see how it goes with the latest update making...
I like cool expensive gadgets, and have certainly spent money on many things I don't need, and I am grateful to have reasonable disposable income to do so. But as cool as I see this being, I can't get around the exorbitant cost to convenience ratio here (and for the similarly cool Thunderbolt...
This is exactly my experience driving the two, and I think it underscores that the vehicle differences I have felt have as much to do with the driving differences as anything else. I love driving the S in sport low on smooth curvy roads in my 22s, it is just amazing!
Thanks all for the replies...
I have owned an R1S since March, riding on the 22s. I just picked up a loaner R1T while the service center is addressing a few minor issues. It has 20s. And wow, the driving experience is way better.
My R1S rocks forward and back, as well as little side rolling, when in Auto Soft; it's just...
They do offer home delivery, they offered it to me in Rochester but latest in day was 3pm (because of distance from service center), so I came up there to pick it up anyways.
