Thankfully, mine has none of these. Overall, my truck has been fantastic. Fans are loud and gear tunnel ppf could have been installled better on one side.
Someone on one of the Facebook groups asked a good question about people moving from a higher-end 2019 1500 Limited. I like the question and tried to provide a detailed answer. I'd love to hear other thoughts if they also moved from a newer, higher-end truck. Here's my list:
Things I love...
My advice is clean the top of the cover using some car plastic cleaner, roll it up to keep it tucked away and clean. Use it when you need it, and be good about cleaning it before rolling it back up away for storage.
This simply isn’t true. Check this thread or just about any discussion about wireless charging on Rivian. The Androids that aren’t set up to prefer MagSafe work better (less bad?) and are less temperamental than any recent iPhone. There’s even a guy on this thread who said his non-MagSafe...
The harsh reality is Apple has moved away from charging standards and is driving customers to their proprietary MagSafe charging. It’s how Apple does business.
The pad isn’t great to start with, but it’s heavily compounded, by Apple is actively working against standard wireless charging.
Does anyone else have challenges with the storage doors not closing fully inside the gear tunnel? I’m going to try some rare earth magnets to see if they can help snap at closed.
Most of the Rivian feels super high-quality. These storage doors do not.
I got my refund check today.... Rivian did the refund faster than WA state shipped real plates, which was great. My Guide was super friendly and helped make the best of the situation.
I normally get into the bed for the Rivian via the gear tunnel step, even if there isn't a hitch rack installed... so no issue there.
I definitely would vote for better protection against accidentally opening the tailgate (like if you meant to push the tonneau cover button). I also wish you...
There's another brake light on the roof line. We used it as a support vehicle for a 200mi ride between Seattle and Portland in heavy traffic with a bike or two on the hitch for most of it... no issues, no close calls. I think between both side lights and the top brake light, it's OK.
It would be super cool if they’d set up a program to loan volunteers the equipment, if they training isn’t too overwhelming, to map roads for them.
That’s only 30 miles from home and still almost 300 miles from Boise (or 320mi round trip from McCall). No, it’s not even mildly good enough for a Boise trip or a day trip for skiing or biking in McCall
Got paperwork from Rivian overnighted... new paperwork shows paid in full but no taxes paid. DMZ wants to charge tax. Original paperwork shows taxes paid. Not super interested in paying an extra $5100 in taxes...
I'm in WA state with an expired Illinois drive away permit. Local DMV set me up with a couple of trip permits that last 3 days each. Guide is trying to help--just re-signed my purchase agreement without the licensing fees. Any ideas what's next and how long it will take? My guide hasn't gone...
Isn't BMW the company that didn't build much of their own software and wanted to charge customers $80 just to make CarPlay work? I know they rolled it back, but it sure doesn't say much for BMW software capability or marketing.
