Mar-Apr delivery window with relatively late order compared to most on this thread (Sept'19), R1T, LA silver, Black Int, 20" wheels, Metro Detroit. No guide contact or phone calls.
The backlash was likely bigger than Rivian realized. Those who cancelled early drove the reversal (thank you), but I suspect many more who chose not to react so quickly would have backed away. Despite the apology, I'm not seeing the changes needed to ensure this kind of disastrous lack of...
As someone with a Mar-Apr delivery window, I was fully prepared to cancel my purchase had they not reversed course. Kudos to those that pulled the actual trigger early to send the needed message. I was prepared to say "no way" when my actual delivery was imminent, but it didn't get that far...

Mar-Apr window, LE R1T, LA Silver with Black Mountain, 20" AT's with Off-Road package. Pre-ordered Sept'19, Metro Detroit area hoping for option of picking it up in Normal.

Electuck is right. I'm venting over an extra $3500 for alloy wheels that are black instead of silver.......for a truck. Value = Quality / Cost. I just don't see much value in this offer. At least we have a choice.
What?! $3500 to change wheel paint colors from silver to black?? Please, let's hope Rivian made an honest mistake. I configured my Launch Edition weeks ago and received an email from Rivian yesterday solely about "black wheels". Maybe Rivian made a mistake, because this looks like a gouge...
