If they didn't farm out their maps or entertainment and offer carplay or android auto, I doubt they'd farm out FSD. There is just too much to lose giving up that native software and relying on others and giving up the recurring revenue stream after purchase.
ABC.... We just both are in the habit of come home, plug in... Never worry about state of charge or charging, because every morning you are at 85%
So I would add that in the pro/con columns
2 chargers:
Zero planning/thinking, just habit building
I have suggested this would be great... have a Rivian Club or Rivian Caravan mode and you could "invite" others and see them on the map for trail runs etc. So that and then allow a "sticky" one for always show would be awesome. And the app location would be nice if it was like Tesla's...
I will buy an expensive EV from a start-up company in an immature EV market and then complain that the infrastructure and convenience doesn't match the mature ICE market or isn't as good as the most mature EV brand in said emerging market.
I get the frustration, but everytime I get...
I am fine with that! Always fun to share. On the length I never really measured, sorta looked and didn't see much behind there so I made it long for more space and the R1T I had no issues installing it. So definitely some optimizations could take place.
I haven't actually printed that...
Don't forget about elevation change.... get much less range climbing than descending... so you'll get better range 1 way than the other... The first few trips up skiing made me realize just how big an impact it has (same as an ICE but you just don't have to plan for it).
Mine is in shop for glass replacement as I type... Had truck a year, repaired 2 chips/cracks myself and after 3rd I gave in and took it in. Mainly due to fact no 3rd parties can do it and inconvenience of the SC (have to keep it overnight, it's an hour away, etc)
If 3rd parties get the...
Super valid points! and definitely can tell you have put more thought into it than me, so thank you for taking the time to share, it does help to have multiple views on any new subject.
I will stand by the point that legally if a reasonable person would do it, you are typically covered. Being...
NOT A LAWYER
But there is the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which in short says they can't void warranty for using 3rd party parts and services. So it becomes the normal legal responsibility "Would a REASONABLE PERSON expect that outcome".
So if the 3rd party part is marketed as compatible; you...
GREATMinds! I had my son make me one (I have adjusted the STL since the pictures were taken had to rotate the logo correctly and align the holes/lid better... haven't reprinted the new STL)
Mine started doing the funny Service Suspension Soon errors this week. Did a 400mile trip Friday in Eco (no problem) home Saturday, back to All-Purpose. No Driving Sunday (rare).... Monday morning on way to work "Service Suspension Soon" Turtle mode kicked in. Took photo, submitted ticket, HARD...
I wouldn't wait... You are most likely going to want a NACS to other adapter anyway.... Why tie yourself to one eco-system for trips? Get one now and a free adapter or wait to get a NACs R1S and buy an adapter
I mean it appears to be all soft sided, so not sure the dimensions matter much since you can "scrunch" it to fit (Like I do with my <$175 bags I use). Nice idea, but the price is not right, and the duffel on the Gear Shop doesn't display a "side" view that shows it's shape match the tunnel (and...
My problem really isn't the weak tie-rod... it's the $1,300 repair fee.
Weak link in a system should be engineered to be a cheap easy fix, getting the parts below the current $500+ and making them more available will help this and engineering out the need to do an alignment
I'd be ok, with...
He already stated if going into a place you can't have... Maybe running errands and 1 of the many stops is a place like if going to a school or church or private business that doesn't allow. He is asking as a responsible owner.
