Thanks for the great write-up! I love the idea of the Pebble but after viewing the layout online my wife & I eliminated it as a possible RV.
We lived aboard a small boat for some period of time where we had access to only one side of our bed. Making the bed was a pain and one person needing...
Well now I’m confused. You disabled proximity lock while parked at home but still expect your R1T to lock when you park at home and then walk away? What am I missing here?
Depending on when you plan to travel, getting over Siskiyou Pass will be your biggest challenge. We spent a night in Yreka last February when I-5 was shutdown over the pass.
TripCheck will be absolutely essential if you’re traveling in winter.
So I have a question. I own 2 sets of wheels so I cross-rotate my tires myself. But this means that the outside edge of my tires are always the outside edge. If I had DT rotate just tires (i.e. remove tires from wheels) then the outside edge would become an inside edge when rotated. Is it...
After watching the video I’m not clear if I can lock the crossbars when mounted in the truck bed. Seems like it would be hard to get the key in there.
30 years ago, when I was still living in Utah, Salt Lake City began experimenting with this design. It felt really odd at first, partly because cars with backup cams weren’t common then, but once I got used to the practice I preferred it. I wonder how that experiment turned out.
I replaced the 20” Pirelli AT+’s on my 2023 DM Max R1T with the Nokian One HT. The difference in noise level was remarkable — as one would expect moving from a snow/all terrain tire to a tire designed for the highway. My range also jumped about 10%.
Since we’re towing a trailer we plan our stops around Rivian or Tesla SuperChargers where there is no need to drop the trailer. Food and bathrooms are an afterthought but we always seem to find something nearby.
It was a while ago so I don’t remember the socket size or torque setting. But as I recall I didn’t need to disconnect the electrical connection since after removing all of the bolts I merely tilted the seat forward enough that I could retrieve the key.
1) Stability. When the RAM encountered strong crosswinds or met a semi the trailer sway was enough that I was forced to slow down considerably — even tho I was always careful to observe the 60/40 rule loading the trailer. I believe this was largely due to the fact the R1T is heavier than the...
We tow our 27 FB Flying Cloud with our 2023 DM Max R1T. We’ve been up and down the west coast from Vancouver Island to Southern California and I love how it handles. As folks in other threads have mentioned, I occasionally check my rear view mirror to see if the AS is still there.
The only...
Speaking of driving models, I’ve been trying out several models trying to find one that is stable laterally and doesn’t hug the center line. When I switch models should I also recalibrate? And how long should I drive with that model? I’ve been testing each model on a 4-lane highway for about...
I’ve been running on the Nokian One HT 275/65 R20 for about 2 years now and I love them. Swapped out my 22” Pirelli’s and noticed the quieter ride immediately. I also recovered the expected range loss of moving from the 22’s to the 20’s because the Nokian’s are a more efficient highway tire.
This is exactly the logic to backing into a parking space. I back-in my R1T pretty much all the time now because with the rearview cameras I can be much more precise.
Backing in also makes leaving much safer as well. It’s impossible to see lateral traffic if I’m backing out but driving...
