Would likely make no difference. Mine is in a concrete parkade with no wifi anywhere and cell signal is also not available (it's practically a bunker).
Based on most recent testing (confirmed with a FLIR thermal imager) the source of vampire drain is the various Driver+ sensors; they are always...
Ha, yeah the aluminum channels definitely are roughed in. I didn't realize the full length between edges at the top was actually 52", not 48", so I only got enough of the channels to accommodate 48" lengths, one for each panel edge. I might fix that at a later date but it'll do for now! I also...
My attempt, based on leftride's design. I left the aluminum channels unpainted and think the silver accents look great! I also put weather seal tape on all the forward edges of each panel; the rear most panel has it on both edges. Definitely DIY looking but it does the trick! Bonus is that it...
There really needs to be a 'Shut Down' option. Start up sequence can be relatively easy to program in. They already use the brake + unlock as a pseudo wake-up from camp mode or whatnot.
The only trick is to make sure the vehicle responds to unlock commands from the fob or otherwise when in such...
I've already pinged Wassym on Reddit and linked to this thread (specifically your post with the thermal images). I've also brought it up in the weekly "Rivian Responds" thread that they actively participate in. Hopefully this gets their attention!
I believe F65 (Heated Wiper Park) is used for a small strip where the wiper blades 'park' to prevent them from icing up. Not particularly unuseful but shouldn't be on all the time for sure. F63 might be the auto dimming feature of the rearview mirror?
You talking about this?
Improved range loss when a phone key is near the vehicle for long periods of time
I live 6 floors above my R1T in an all-concrete apartment building. Unless my R1T is being bombarded with bluetooth connections or something else in my parkade, I doubt this will help my...
Meanwhile my R1T was sipping 1.5kWh over 23h15m. Interestingly, the trip meter shows the duration as 3 min? So, what the hell? Is sleep mode even real?
WassymRivian on that Reddit thread explicitly mentions the windshield camera (if that is the culprit for heat and not the cell antenna) should be off when the truck is in sleep mode, and especially if GG is off.
Wassym's got some 'splainin to do!
Interesting. One of the comments mentions a small silver piece that appears to be a cellular connectivity part and it runs hot. Makes me second guess if turning off network entirely is actually the trick.
I'll know in 4 hours as soon as I get home ?.
If the drain has not changed, I'll try turning off network entirely for 24hours.
If THAT fails, I'm going to see if I can borrow a Flir thermal camera to see if there's any hotspots. There's a thread elsewhere that speculates the windshield camera...
Alright, running my first round of tests of disabling various things. Tonight I'm not going full disconnect of network, just two settings that I think are most likely to be contributing to the problem of data upload and waking up the vehicle:
For posterity, I've zero'd out the odometer and...
For that amount of data it uploads for the amount of power it uses - you'd think it would make more sense to just do data sync to the cloud whenever the vehicle is plugged into a charging station.
Heck, there's even a setting in Google Photos to do photo backups to cloud only when the phone is...
Is this based on network activity from a monitor of sorts? If so, what activity is it doing (uploading AWS, telemetry, etc)./ If my apartment wasn't 6 floors above my parking spot I could try to connect my R1T to my WiFi for monitoring.
If it is network, I'm going to run a test this week...
