Lol.
Quite "Flat Earth Society" of you.
That said, a piece of this plan is already public, so I'll let you try to guess at the rest of it...

I did.
I told you what I am comfortable saying in public.
There are those who are so keen on spreading disinformation and conjecture that nothing will stop them. My post is not for them.
My post is for those who may genuinely be fearing that the supercharger system will be negatively...
Yes, actually I do lol. And in this case, I have a _lot_ more information than most here seem to have.
I am retired from the industry, but my former colleagues still take my calls.
You will see; what is coming is very good. Oh, and at least a half dozen of the people that I know that...
No.
Seriously people, this is part of a much bigger plan, it is well thought out and, well, frankly, genius (wish I had come up with it).
The "he woke up on the wrong side of the bed and fired everyone" narrative is uninformed and it is foolish to keep repeating it.
Oh. Good. Grief.
I tried to read through some of these posts, but the over-the-top reactions to an article from a very uninformed source really is bordering on lunacy.
No, superchargers are not going away.
Yes, superchargers will continue to be built out.
Yes, this signals a change, but...
The computer has to try to guess, thousands of times per second.
Other then trying to get more motors into play for power, there are few advantages to the system, and many disadvantages.
That is why it is going away in favor of the DM & Tri-motor; tri-motor only for those wanting maximum...
Like a blind man stabbing at a moving target. With no diff to "measure" the traction side-to-side, the computer flails at "testing" the traction and trying to "guess" what it is on.
It works OK for what most people use it for, but is hopelessly defeated as soon as any precision traction is...
Proof:
Have owned both, put thousands of hours and miles on both, have put them though all the paces with other avid off-roaders.
Need more proof? Buy one of each & take them out & thrash them like we have.
I live in Mexico, and travel the length of Baja and bounce around the mainland quite a bit. The Rivian is definitely more of a challenge than my Teslas are, but traveling in Mexico in a Rivien is fine.
Addressing the thread's tooic; trying to power your Rivian with carry-along solar is an...
The fact that you posted the question means you're not entirely comfortable with the available CCS options.
That being the case, seems obvious you would want to buy an inexpensive supercharger adapter and remove that question from your mind.
