I don't think that can happen with RIVN. If I remember right, common shares have restricted voting rights. I believe the pre-IPO stocks may be in a different position.

You did notice the stock price plunge that took place when they raised the price? That is why they backed up is my best guess. They had been playing up the stock price for their IPO and that raise hit their stock price like a hammer.
