Well, #1 answers one of my big questions. Not totally happy with the answer but..., at least it's an answer, which none of us have received before, to my knowledge. I guess my follow up would be, is it really that efficient to run one interior per month or two on R1Ss? If we had been told...
I also was told that I would be an early delivery. That appears to have been from a guide not fully informed of what the real process is for determining delivery. If there is a process. It sounds like the deliveries opened up to essentially being bargained over internally based on who knows...
I feel your pain. I do have a guide but I'm watching deliveries for people with 11/19 pre-orders get their R1S. I have a pre-order from 2/19, Launch edition, pretty delivery layout and nothing. Last I heard, "slowing down this quarter, maybe 4th quarter. Not sure how people are being chosen...
I would add that if they had waited on doing an IPO they would have had all these other issues (price increase, lack of delivery, service issues as stated in these posts, crashed market, etc, etc.... They wanted to get the money while the getting was good. I'm SOOOOOO glad that I said, Thanks...
I guess maybe I complained to many times about their behavior on this whole price issue and then the no R1S build issue. I am an LE edition, an hour and a half from their office in San Jose with a preorder date of 2/3/2019. I may just have put myself at the back of the line. :(
I just saw that one was delivered with a preorder date of 2/11/19. My Preorder was 2/3/19 but I've heard nothing so far, but I've said some what my be considered critical posts about their decision making along the way. That might put mine at the back of the list . ??
LE, Canyon Red
But again, the only reason that really makes sense to me is that Rivian needed to get production rates as high as possible for their stock prices to start rebounding. That is much easier to do producing one model than two.
I am hopeful that they will finally look at building these. I am on the three plus year wait list. My guess is that their stock price is out of the basement from the swan dive it took. They were desperate to show that they could deliver #s. So now, maybe, they might actually think about...
I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you... HAL
Or possibly, " Jeff wants Vans, lots of Vans and Wall Street wants to see we can actually deliver trucks. Well..., we wanted to make SUVs too, but...., I guess not. Tell them it's 'cause of Covid, or supply chain, or..., JUST TELL THEM SOMETHING!!!"
Possible explanation? Of course my R1S...
So, I did a little math. There approximately 3,600 Rivians listed on this site. 1600+ are R1S. If you believe Rivian (not that I do), Rivian says they have 75,000 preorders. If we are good, a reasonbly good sample (1 forum per 20 orders) , that would put the total number of R1s at around...
So, one explanation is that the R1Ss are not ready. The problem with this is that I have seen photos of them on the production line. Perhaps those are for employees. I talked to an employee at customer service today that has not received his. Another explanation is that they can make...
I received it followed by a October - December delivery. The previous was April, then May - June. We had previously been notified that the purchase process was starting. Feb 2, 2019 R1S LE, Canyon Red pre-order.
Starting to feel like they don't want to deliver R1S orders at the old price.
