  1. WDH for towing travel trailer

My experience towing a 22’ airstream is very similar to yours. About 1.4 m/kwh efficiency, more than I thought, with lots of ups and downs along the California coast from LA to Paso Robles. Regen does some heavy charging on the downhills, since the trailer is actually pushing the truck...
  2. Blue Ox Swaypro & R1T initial set up?

Just used our Blue Ox for the first time on my Gen 2 R1S with Airstream 22’ in tow. Worked great, although I think I might have set it for too much tension at normal truck height. Also had to use their biggest drop setting to get it low enough for the trailer, which has already had a 6” lift...
  3. Towing + Efficiency: Please post your experience!

I’ve been very pleased with our first experience hauling our 22’, 5000 lb airstream. 1.4 up hills, and 1.5 on the flat. It was a 200 mile trip, stopped twice on the recommendation of ABRP, both RAN sites that were relatively trailer friendly, so no need to disconnect. Also, the Rv park in Paso...
  4. Real-world efficiency stats towing a Lightship AE.1 with a Rivian R1T (Gen1 Quad)

No mods on the trailer, except a 6” lift, which I can’t imagine helps much.
  5. Real-world efficiency stats towing a Lightship AE.1 with a Rivian R1T (Gen1 Quad)

I know - we were just talking about that. Thor teased an e-version a while back, but I haven’t seen much more. More than that, I’d like Rivian lane centering and adaptive CC to work in trailer mode!
  6. Real-world efficiency stats towing a Lightship AE.1 with a Rivian R1T (Gen1 Quad)

Makes me slightly less jealous of those folks getting an R2…
  7. Real-world efficiency stats towing a Lightship AE.1 with a Rivian R1T (Gen1 Quad)

For what it’s worth, taking our first trip with our Airstream 22’, nd I’m very I,pressed that I’m getting a consistent 1.5 m/kwh.
  8. Mexico, anyone?

Just got back from a trip to Baja in my Model Y. Aside from getting lost at the border crossing, everything went well, and the lone Baja supercharger in Ensenada was never busy (maybe $0.55/kwh is the reason?) Unfortunately, it appears to be Tesla Only, so future plans involving the R1S will be...
  9. Autonomy+ Poll: Will you be buying / subscribing to it?

Totally agree - lane changing ain’t worth it. Had my MY for a year and the app says I use FSD 98% of the time - happy to pay $100/month, and it keeps getting better. I really hope RJ doesn’t abandon us for the bet-the-company R2 play, so I can have reasonable autonomy on a car that I’m not...
  10. RJ: Rivian ADAS will expand to Tesla style FSD - full self driving on highway and roads (from driveway to destination)

Actually, I did just that with a model Y and they delivered. So my R1S is my next bet. With a non-barmy CEO.
  11. Autonomy+ Poll: Will you be buying / subscribing to it?

Dumb question - does this mean current Gen2 is not hardware capable of PtP? I’ve watched my Model Y go from wobbling around in freeways and getting confused on back roads to error-free PtP, pulling over for an ambulance, and picking out a parking spot. And it doesn’t have the Rivian’s sensors...
  12. 2026.03 Update Pushed! Now Installing

Funny, just got my S and its behavior with my ancient iphone 12 in my pocket with the Apple wallet gizmo is hilarious. Every time I walk out to the garage, it’s lights on, door handles out, little happy noises that seem to say “oh boy, oh boy we’re going for a ride!”. More excited than my dog...
