My experience towing a 22’ airstream is very similar to yours. About 1.4 m/kwh efficiency, more than I thought, with lots of ups and downs along the California coast from LA to Paso Robles. Regen does some heavy charging on the downhills, since the trailer is actually pushing the truck...

Just used our Blue Ox for the first time on my Gen 2 R1S with Airstream 22’ in tow. Worked great, although I think I might have set it for too much tension at normal truck height. Also had to use their biggest drop setting to get it low enough for the trailer, which has already had a 6” lift...

No mods on the trailer, except a 6” lift, which I can’t imagine helps much.

I know - we were just talking about that. Thor teased an e-version a while back, but I haven’t seen much more. More than that, I’d like Rivian lane centering and adaptive CC to work in trailer mode!

For what it’s worth, taking our first trip with our Airstream 22’, nd I’m very I,pressed that I’m getting a consistent 1.5 m/kwh.

Just got back from a trip to Baja in my Model Y. Aside from getting lost at the border crossing, everything went well, and the lone Baja supercharger in Ensenada was never busy (maybe $0.55/kwh is the reason?) Unfortunately, it appears to be Tesla Only, so future plans involving the R1S will be...

Totally agree - lane changing ain’t worth it. Had my MY for a year and the app says I use FSD 98% of the time - happy to pay $100/month, and it keeps getting better. I really hope RJ doesn’t abandon us for the bet-the-company R2 play, so I can have reasonable autonomy on a car that I’m not...

Actually, I did just that with a model Y and they delivered. So my R1S is my next bet. With a non-barmy CEO.

Dumb question - does this mean current Gen2 is not hardware capable of PtP? I’ve watched my Model Y go from wobbling around in freeways and getting confused on back roads to error-free PtP, pulling over for an ambulance, and picking out a parking spot. And it doesn’t have the Rivian’s sensors...
