If $12.50/month is a deal breaker, save that money & drive the 4Runner.
I can't speak for all early adapters, but I think my $68k R1S quad with 20" AT was a pretty sweet deal, even if I do have to fork over $12.50/month for unlimited data / streaming / hotspot moving forward.
While there's definitely profit for Rivian in the AT bundle, I think the 20" option are far & away the best selling tire combo (which is to be expected on an offroad-oriented / "adventure" vehicle).
THIS JUST PUT ME OVER THE EDGE!!!!
I WAS GOING TO BUY TWENTY TRI-MOTORS AT $115K EACH TODAY BUT NOW I'M NOT GOING TO BECAUSE RIVIAN IS GOING TO CHARGE ME (*CHECKS NOTES*) $12.50/MONTH (AFTER A 60 DAY FREE TRIAL PERIOD) TO USE THE DATA THAT AT&T IS CHARGING THEM FOR (WITH THE OPTION TO PAY...
I was tempted to add that (non-OEM) "Quad Motor" badge you can buy online to my Gen 1 because I liked how it looks, but talked myself out of that even though I'm sure it would add at least 10+ HP to my Gen 1.
Love it man! The outsized gains on options are always fun to see (although I've also been on the opposite side with various stocks more times than I would like to admit lol).
Just to clarify, RAP+ is free through the end of 2024 for new buyers (Gen 2 only since Gen 1 doesn't have the hardware).
Connect+ will be free for all owners for 60 days once it goes live. After that, it will be $14.99/month ($19.99 CAD) or $149.99/year ($199.99 CAD) for everyone.
I suspect...
Nice one! I took a few 0dte $16.5c right before close yesterday (yes, I'm a degenerate) that are +300% currently so had some good luck on this side as well.
Now just struggling to decide if I'm going to exercise or sell.
Great read -- thanks for posting! I also believe that article contains the single-best description of the Cybertruck that I've heard to date:
One other interesting note: while it's a little oddly worded, it sounds like there could be more money from VW coming in down the line as well. If...
Do you have the Regen Brake Assist feature turned off? If not, then that feature will occasionally use your physical (friction) brakes rather than regen even though you aren't physically touching the brake pedal.
Likewise, Highway Assist will also use the friction brakes while active if/when...
I posted almost the exact same thing before reading up and seeing you'd already said it ?
Completely agree, and Tesla did the same with their policy about 4 years ago.
Most of us run some variation of the Samsung T7 as that drive seems to be the least "fussy" of the readily available options out there. It's pretty much plug & play.
I have one posted on the marketplace from a long while back if you end up deciding to go that route (thread here).
Agree with you 100% on this point. They touted the ease of use when they went to the rocker-switch style toggle designs in the earlier update that added those (which I believe was earlier this year), and now went back to the less user friendly / more difficult to use setup.
I suspect they think...
I can't speak to how much improvement there is (hard to tell when you can't drive the old vs. new side by side to compare), but definitely feel like they're all as good or better so wouldn't be too concerned about any regression in the drive modes on this OTA.
I think we'd be hearing more reports if there was a noticeable improvement.
Got the update ready notice about a hour ago but giving it a day or two before installing to make sure no huge bugs appear.
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I prefer the "old" (current) graphics vs. the "new" (cartoon) graphics.
I updated the phone app earlier this week and instantly regretted it when I saw the beautiful render of my R1 turn into a cartoon. Wish there was a way to roll back to the previous app...
