Looks like I'll finally be receiving my sliders tomorrow (Friday)! Hope it survive UPS' abuse in shipping.
Interesting tid bit: the shipping label looked like it was created in Atlanta to be shipped from Atlanta, but the package's actual shipping origin is from their Louisiana warehouse.

As another statistic for prospective buyer's awareness, I ordered R1T sliders back in early February (order # in the early 3000's).

From these two photos, it looks like the entire mechanism sits on the two edges of the gear tunnel openings, and the rest of the body of the slide looks to "float" above the bottom floor of the gear tunnel itself by a few inches. I can even see you've kept the gear tunnel floor liner installed...
I also have a Samsung phone - the Samsung Z Flip 4 - and I also have the same issue of PAAK working for a while then not working at all. Rebooting the phone seems to make it work again for a little while, before quitting again after a day or three.

Also, unlike the restaurant analogy, the full price of the product was charged and paid for in full, even months in advance for many.
I wouldn't think asking for regular updates for a paid-in-full product is an unreasonable request.
I've also encountered this same challenge and had given some thought to a 3rd party camera as well. Let me know if you take this route how it goes and which camera you used.
FYI, I had emailed them for an estimated delivery time for the rock sliders, and they replied back that it'll be "around late March to early April".
My order # is in the upper 3200s.
