What do you get when you're paired with a charger?
I have two non-Rivian chargers at my homes and they both charge the vehicle perfectly and I see the progress on the Rivian app. Is there more functionality when paired with a Rivian wall charger?
I've had my R1S just shy of two months now. It's a GREAT vehicle. The ride, the space, the looks of it, the capability.
Long story ahead, but I'm sharing it so maybe y'all can take away some guidance on how to deal with these issues yourself.
My only two complaints/issues have been the nav and...
After mobile service came out and seems to have fixed the issue of the liftgate not opening when parked on a decline, a new issue has developed about 72 hours later.
The system thinks that the liftgate is open when it is closed and latched. It closes when the button is pushed and engages the...
OP here. I might wrap some electrician's tape - or leftover gorilla tape from taping my running boards holes - just to make it look cleaner. Or I might just peel off the chewed up covering and not tape it back up again.
Did you know that there's a torsion bar (don't know if I'm calling it by the right name) under the inside flap of the tailgate/lower part of the split tailgate (not the liftgate)?
I didn't know there was such a thing under there. I just thought the bottom part of the tailgate flopped open...
Is Rivian still building the vehicles in batches by color or are we pretty much past that point?
Seems like there are A LOT of Forest Green R1Ses.
And did y'all get Black Mountain + Dark Ash?
Roll call/headcount... Do you have a Forest Green R1S?
I'm driving in All Purpose - Standard virtually all the time. I've talked to some folks who drive in All Purpose - Low the majority of the time. What mode and height do you drive in most of the time/as your default? And why? Comfort, effect on range, tires, other factors like parking...?
Got mine about a week later than estimated, but shipping and delivery were good.
Used the 4" hole method. Fit great. Rock solid. Really like the look of them.
I read this thread after putting them on... To summarize the points made by folks here and my personal take on the benefits of these...
Across just our few data points here, I wonder what the biggest factor is between getting one with issues or not.
1. Manufacturing variance from one unit to another, even within a batch done roughly in the same period
2. The Service Center's QC
3. Some other build attribute - though all of ours...
These are useful and serve the same multi-purposes that folks have mentioned.
And they're constructed of plastic, so won't act like a metal spear going into your frame.

Good to hear those things are relatively minor, I suppose. But I would not be happy with these items.
Perhaps SC matters and is something to note for whomever shares the state of their 18xxx R1S.
Mine was the Gaithersburg, Maryland SC.
To the extent that there are any trends/consistent characteristics across vehicles in the same VIN series, I thought I'd create a specific thread for those of us who have 18xxx series VINs.
Mine is a Forest Green R1S with Black Mountain and Ash interior. Adventure, Quad, Large pack.

Would I like it before the next beach season? Yes.
Would I like it just because? Yes.
That is what I'm referring to. I didn't want to get too aggressive on pulling it out in case they're fastened in a way that damages something. I didn't take pics last night because it was inconvenient.
Not sure if I'm going to use a pry tool and remove that strip. I spoke with service today and...
My liftgate doesn't operate properly when parked downhill. It will unlatch, open an inch, and then fail. It will open with a little bit of assistance, so it isn't broken per se. And it works fine when flat or uphill.
I thought I'd give the solution posted here a try, but there's a molded...
Good - With the aeros on, look fine
Better - With the aeros off, can see the calipers now
Best - Unsightly bare centers covered by caps from Abstract Ocean
It's the Dogfish Head shop at Rehobeth Beach in Delaware.
The back opens up to a cool area to sit and drink and it's connected to a Dogfish Head restaurant.
