wut? ???
I wired RIVN $100k only to find out a few days later that my pick up was still 3 weeks away. It's a scary, weird feeling not really knowing what to expect with this process.
Please excuse this n00b for not understanding why a non-Tesla has to take up two spaces.
For design, I understand the passenger side vs driver side argument for theoretical future road side charging situations, even if those are currently rare. But I also understand the driver side argument...
I completed all 8 steps and wired all the cash within three days and now that I have a pickup appointment scheduled, looks like it will be 4.5 weeks for me. Misleading the first couple of days with things like "final quality checks" and "on its final journal to you now" baloney, but in the end...
Thank you. Options from search on this site seem like Tail-Lidz and Interrobang are the main options. I saw one via google search from LOMAX. That one has a pretty low profile, but it looks like it sits on top/ not in the tracks- not sure about that one.
Tail Lidz: site says this:

thank you. that looks good. says orders ship in 6-8 weeks. if the expectation for anything to be available to me in RIVN gear shop really is "never", then this may be the route to go.
as a 2024 order from the shop with tonneau covers not even an option to add, and still not an option to order in the gear shop, and so many tonneau covers owed to 2022/2023 orders that had an option to add one, should my expectation for a tonneau cover be "never"?
Any aftermarket / 3rd party...
? ordered from the shop on 2/26/2024. Immediately got a VIN with PN025xxx and completed all steps to purchase within 2 days. Scheduled to pick it up late March. Should I be concerned its born-on date is so old?
(R1T, dual-performance, large pack)
well damn. I am finally scheduled to pick up my dual-performance r1t at the SC in a couple of weeks and now I have some serious FOMO about the quad after reading this thread. ...which I already had some FOMO before re: yellow calipers!
:CWL: five hundred million of them. Your order will be completed in about six years, but with what I'm assuming is a considerable high margin on every plush toy vs a considerable loss on every vehicle, they might change their entire strategy based on this one order.
...so, right now you can't even add a tonneau cover to your vehicle order if you shop available builds in the shop and tonneau covers aren't available to order in the gear shop either. Assuming RIVN has a huge backlog of customers who are awaiting covers they ordered previously, is there any...
i posted this on another thread:
They really do a good job of getting already excited customers much more excited, don't they?
On my demo drive, the guy at the SC told me that since they're right by the rail depot, they are typically seeing people who "shop available builds" get them in 1-2...

On my demo drive, the guy at the SC told me that since they're right by the rail depot, they are typically seeing people who "shop available builds" get them in 1-2 weeks lately. That excited me. I...
