  3. Got to 80,000 miles on 12/2002 R1T - no issues / problems!

I’m definitely not superstitious! Yesterday, I noticed that my 12/2002 R1T had just reached 80,000 miles! I do drive it a lot :) But contrary to the usual web chatter, this truck has been amazingly reliable. A brake fluid change at 75K along with a wheel alignement due to Poughkeepsie Creek...
  4. Any SoCal electricians want to make a buck? Pre-wired EV garage charger.

I too live in Irvine. You’ll need a permit buddy :). Or the value added to the house will be zero. Get a local electrician. Less of a headache

I just spent sĆ“e time with Rivian employees at the charging Outpost in Joshua Tree, CA. They’ve be been told there are 300,000 reservations! They should be teceiving their demo R2 before April 1. I’ll be there to see it! Unless they appear first closer to me in Laguna Beach or Irvine.

The distance between some part of the truck you value and that big ass rock :)
  12. Underbody shield / skid plate needed or not?

I didn’t do sliders since they lower ride height on many of those too thick sliders. They do protect the doors a bit
  13. Underbody shield / skid plate needed or not?

I just did the classic roads near Durango. I definitely wanted off road wheels and tires. And I did hit the skid plate a few times. Sliders are also an issue if you don’t want ANY body damage. I consider my R1T a truck so body damage is a sign of experience :). Although just a few scratches...

  16. Need R1T Purchase Advice, Buy Now in November or Wait for Better deal in December?

Get the model you want. Don’t count on inventives as a deciding factor. If you need it sooner and get something close to what you want. My three cents after 3 years and 75K miles of happy motoring :)
  17. R2 prototypes off-road testing

That looks like Dale area in Joshua Tree. Am I right, RJ?
  18. Poughkeepsie Gulch, Hurricane Pass, and Corkscrew Gulch

BFG K02s. I aired down to 35. I would have kept going down in pressure if I tried the Wall. But my expĆ©rienced friend John’s fail on the ā€˜alternate’ route that he had done before showed us that the ground was too slippery. Maggies Kitchen in Ouray. Good stuff
