Assuming that range rating for standard+ and large pack use the same methodology/derating coefficient, it should be about a 120KWh battery. $6k price reduction for less than $2500 reduction in battery cost seems odd. I am wondering if they're playing games with the EPA range like they did with...
We got an R1T at pre price hike and that was a great deal. At current price, QM and large pack are a stiff premium. DM and standard+ are going to be the configuration that everyone gets. With NACS, that's most likely our Tesla replacement.
Was perusing Rivian site looking at lease prices and just discovered this.
Good summary by @MidnightRivian ?
Rivian R1S base price dropped to $74,900 for Adventure Package. The configurator now includes a 315 mile battery pack called Standard+ for $3,100.
Now you can configure one with 315+...
300 miles, dual motor at $50k would be nice. That is most likely a stretch. SUV will be less aero than an equivalent model Y, and therefore will require more batteries. Would buy one at $60K with 100KWh batteries that can go over 300 miles at hwy speed.
Also guessing that off-road...
Hydrogen overall energy efficiency from production to motoring a car is a fraction of BEVs. Plus, I highly doubt that people want to have an explosive hydrogen refueling station in their midst.
Not gonna happen. Why BMW is chasing this is weird.
Anyway, not buying a Tesla so that one...
My understanding, from a neighbor who lost his car to a fallen tree, is that full coverage covers tree damage. Furthermore, tree owner is not responsible for the damage.
What is the root of the issue? The lack of negotiations or that shareholders were misled? If misled, how was that misleading? Too lazy to read the judge decision.
Package is only huge in retrospect. Back then, almost no one expected most of those milestones to be met.
