Sounds logical to me. The demand for the trucks simply just doesn't seem to compare to the more 'practical' R1S for many households. I would love the R1T one day, but for now, I have an R1S =D
Less stock sitting on proverbial shelves is a good thing.
Wassym who?
edit: I was being a bit sarcastic with the fact that an outsider is 'sticking to their guns' when one of the tech leads corrects them. i probably should have done a /s or something to that effect
Interesting. I felt the EV9 was close but not as good. And owning an Ioniq 5, I know how the ride feel and suspension feels/degrades over a year of driving. Just used for around town driving like school drop offs, etc and nothing crazy. Maybe my suspension needs tuning or fixing but it degraded...
My Spotify app on the R1 wouldn't scroll horizontally so I didn't like it that much anyways =P
I'll probably pay for Connect+, at least intermittently if I need the hotspot, or w/e else. Maybe just a month at a time if I'm going on a road trip. If there are more than 2 months I don't really need...
I'll re-emphasize this yea. Right now with the charging infrastructure, it's much harder with less range. With the Tesla adapter, a lot of that is mitigated, but I'd still just push for more range if you can if you're planning on road trips. Charging infrastructure might be robust enough out by...
They're promising FSD, but doesn't it still not have any Highway assisted driving currently? or something like that at least. And charging with superchargers is limited maybe? I forget all the issues the CTs have right now.
I'm pretty stoked about this tbh. I can get the OEM Tire swap from Rivian, have them change my software along with it. Then keep that setting, and swap tires from then on with 275/60r20 once my Pirelli ATs wear out.
Then nice accurate computer readings (not that that matters too too much of...
Now that you mention it. It's interesting because it seems like most companies went the opposite direction of introducing smaller cars or mid-sized cars first, and then the bigger cars after. ie. Tesla, Hyundai/Kia, Chevrolet, Polestar, Volvo (I think), etc
Rivian went the opposite direction...
I hard agree.
Allows people to buy what they want, access more of the market share by having all of that price differentiation. I want Rivian to succeed. I love my imperfect but amazing Gen1 R1S, and I want an R3 in a few years.
As a parent of two kids, who are a bit older than that, I wouldn't know tbh.
For me, I'd go with the 2024 quad large. There are definitely real gains in the refresh.
Aesthetics, camera quality, and other nice-to-have features aside, the quad max will be more range than the DM standard refresh...
That's a good tip that makes sense. The first couple times around, I was saying spare, and they seemed almost mind blocked. Second time around, I still used spare but they may have dealt with that scenario more and knew what I wanted.
Quick update for anyone reading here, called again today. Routed to the 'service center' option, tho it still goes to general support it seems. Second person seemed more willing instantly and said they'd go through management to have the local service center reach out directly to arrange the...

Same here. As I was picking up my R1S at the end of March, I was really bummed they didn't have a white + brown wood or black + brown wood..and now they come out with it x_x
Not enough for me to seriously consider trading in, but it's a bit saddening.
