So you have the vehicle and clearly it doesn't have the lighting you'd like, if you are looking for a solution I'd suggest getting a small headlamp or clip on light that you can wear when you go to plug in. Something small could stash in one of the door pockets or in the little compartment...
The boot on the CV joint would have a tear in it if it was flinging grease. I agree you'd also have grease around the wheel well if the boot was defective.
Looks to me like a leaking shock.
So are you suggesting a dual motor could have 1000 hp and a quad could have 2000 hp? I wonder if I'd have a truck that could do a 6 second 1/4 mile? Sounds like a lot of fun, at least until things break! Can I borrow your Quad for a few hours?
So, whether an EV or a ICE vehicle there is crash structure around the fuel component (gas tank or battery) to protect them from a crash. The battery management systems today are much more sophisticated than 10 years ago, and would flag damage to the battery; what technology monitors the...
Glad your wife is fine. The damage looks cosmetic but the repairs quickly get expensive with all the tech. Report it to your insurance and let them fight with the other insurance company. You should be provided with a loaner at no cost since clearly the accident wasn't your wife's fault. It...
The ABS sensors have some very small orifices so keeping clean fluid reduces the chance you'll have to replace an expensive sensor. Before ABS you could get away with dirty fluid, maybe less performance as stated above but clogged sensors weren't an issue.
Either way if you have enough water...
Your original post said "a little ding in the rear door". Your post didn't indicate that the vehicle wasn't able to be driven. I also said "if the repair was cosmetic only", so I'd expect you to read my full post, I guess. Are you enlightened now?
Your body shop doesn't know what they are doing or they don't care. They should have known that part was a one time use part and delayed you dropping the vehicle off if the repair was cosmetic only.
I like the idea that you could jack the vehicle up to max height while you were in the store to reduce the chance someone is going to put a big ding in your door, then come back out and have it kneel so everyone could get in! I'm guessing the lawyers still won't like the idea of auto kneel in...
Ok, I'm going to play devil's advocate here for a second:
Soooo, just something to consider, you can get a protective film for the windshield which I presume is similar plastics to the PPF material. From what I've learned about the windshield film is you don't want to run the wipers without a...
I hate those stupid torx head bolts. They can't handle the torque like a hex head bolt, all you have to do is consider the added leverage at the edge of the hex head bolt compard to the smaller radius of the torx hole.
If you are at a last resort situation where the torx hole is stripped...
Clear coat is a lot harder than PPF and I've seen what car washes do to paint and things like the acrylic headlights after years of washing. The car washes are very hard on finishes whether PPF or not. Keep in mind too, matte finishes are going to show less scratches than a glossy finish.
As...
Did the ferry have some way to push the Rivian off the deck if it were to catch fire? Most ferrys I've been on have the cars packed like sardines so getting to a burning vehicle with large equipment that could push you off the deck would be nearly impossible.
Thanks for posting, it sounds...
Don't tell anyone, Rivian doesn't want ICE owners to know about the large magnets Rivian just turned on that pull you toward those large chunks of iron.
IIRC, the service centers charge $260 for an alignment, but that may vary some. Since you have to schedule things, I'm sure you can call customer service and they can tell you what you will be charged.
